Ajinomoto Philippines Brings the “I Love Veggie-Licious” Caravan to More Communities
Ajinomoto Philippines Corporation (APC) is committed to expanding the reach of the I Love Veggie-Licious Caravan throughout Metro Manila and Luzon, bringing the joy of vegetable cooking and healthy eating to more Filipino homes.
As APC moves closer to the Ajinomoto Group's 2030 goals, which include extending the healthy life expectancy of one billion people and reducing our environmental impact by 50%, APC shows that wholesome meals don't have to be costly or difficult; they can be easily accessible, hassle-free, and most importantly, delicious, especially when paired with Ajinomoto brands.
APC has been organizing the I Love Veggie-Licious Caravan since the beginning of this year. It began in Quezon City and has already spread to three barangays, involving over 750 locals. Also in full swing is the I Love Veggie-Licious School Caravan, which uses entertaining games and activities to teach elementary school students the value of eating veggies. 650 parents and 5,900 elementary school pupils were effectively reached by the caravan last year, significantly influencing the promotion of wholesome eating practices.
The I Love Veggie-Licious Caravan returned to Sta. Lucia this August. Lucia, Pasig City welcomed more than 300 Pasigueños who took part in family-friendly activities, nutrition education, and a cookery demonstration in the morning.
For the next two months, the caravan will be visiting more communities in Laguna, Bulacan, Quezon and Pangasinan.
A Movement with a heart for hearty and nutritious meals
As part of APC's broader commitment to promoting wellness and nutrition in Filipino homes, the I Love Veggie-Licious Caravan is in line with the company's Eat Well, Live Well concept. Through hands-on cooking demonstrations, the event featured useful vegetable-based recipes that appeal to Filipino palates and are enhanced with AJI-NO-MOTO® Umami Seasoning to add flavor to nutritious meals.
Experts from APC also provided nutrition advice, highlighting balanced eating and strategies for enhancing kids' interest in veggies. One of the mother-approved and scientifically supported ways to help kids develop a passion for vegetables is to introduce them to healthier food options at a young age. Mothers should also be creative in how they deliver the recipes, making them appear lively and entertaining to pique children's interest. Vegetable meals could also be enhanced with flavors that kids already enjoy, such as ketchup or cheese. As a concluding statement, the registered dietitian nutritionist from APC reminded participants that children ages 3 to 5 require at least ½ cup of vegetables per meal, while those ages 6 to 9 require ¾ cup, and adults require 1 cup.
The session also showcased APC's brand lineup, demonstrating to guests the variety of ways to turn everyday recipes into kid-friendly and family-friendly Veggie-Licious dinners.
The Future is Healthy!
With each caravan stop, APC fortifies its role as a committed partner in helping Filipino families live healthier lives. The I Love Veggie-Licious Caravan will continue to work with more communities in the coming months, harping on the message that eating vegetables can be delicious, nutritious and sustainable.
