The Batangas Plant of Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc. (PCPPI) establishes Standards for Sustainability and Manufacturing Excellence

With the ongoing development and innovation of its Sto, Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc. (PCPPI), the nation's sole producer of PepsiCo beverages, is solidifying its position as a leader in the Philippine beverage sector.  One of the most cutting-edge and environmentally friendly facilities in its statewide network is the Tomas, Batangas Plant.




PCPPI is expanding operations and integrating world-class standards in production, food safety, environmental stewardship, and community engagement as part of its ambitious transformation strategy.  The Sto.  As an example of operational excellence and growth driven by purpose, Tomas Plant is a prime example of these goals.


Innovation and Quality

The Sto is the location of the Southern Tagalog Regional Office (STRO).  To date, PCPPI's most sophisticated bottle production facility is the Tomas facility.  By making carbonated soft drinks in highly recyclable polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles, the company's newest PET line increases production capacity and strengthens its dedication to sustainability and circularity.

The plant currently produces the recognizable PepsiCo drinks that Filipinos have loved for more than 70 years over seven fully operational lines.  PCPPI's rigorous dedication to global quality, food safety, and operating standards is evident in every bottle it produces.


Commitment to Food Safety

PCPPI remains a prime example of how commitment and constancy are the finest ways to exhibit brilliance.  Sto is one of the company's 12 manufacturing plants in the country.  Tomas was recommended for the highly sought-after Food Safety System Certification (FSSC), which is an internationally accepted standard.






PCPPI has a distinct competitive edge thanks to its FSSC certification, which validates the company's ability to manufacture safe food and packaging products, reduce operational risks, execute resource optimization programs, fortify supply chain alliances, and maintain strict food safety regulations.

The FSSC-recommended facilities include plants in Santo Tomas, Muntinlupa, San Fernando, Rosario, Davao, Bacolod, Naga, Zamboanga, Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo, Tanauan, and Cebu City.

Sustainability practices are deeply embedded in the Sto. Tomas plant’s daily operations. PCPPI’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) milestones highlight its progress on multiple fronts:
  • 13,000 metric tons of post-consumer plastic collected under the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Law
  • 237 million liters of water saved through conservation and reuse technologies
  • 44% reduction in inventory losses thanks to improved supply chain and planning systems



These accomplishments reflect PCPPI’s unwavering focus on water stewardship, plastic circularity, and energy efficiency, proving that growth and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.


Building the Future

After its Annual Stockholders' Meeting, which just ended, PCPPI reiterated its transformation agenda, which is based on creativity, adaptability, and ethical business practices.  The Sto is preparing for the next stage of the business in 2025.  This journey is made possible in large part by Tomas Plant.

Beyond superior production quality, the Sto.  By creating jobs, assisting small businesses, and interacting with the community, Tomas Plant actively supports regional development.  More than 600 people from Batangas and the neighboring areas are currently employed by the facility.






This month is PCPPI's anniversary, and the Sto.  The Tomas facility represents its enduring dedication to people, the environment, and performance—creating a more robust and sustainable future for the beverage sector in the Philippines.
