Globe Strengthens Bacolod’s 5G Network as the City of Smiles Celebrates MassKara Festival 2025

“MassKara is all about joy, connection, and resilience, the same values that define Globe. We’re proud to bring world-class connectivity, including Globe 5G, to Bacolod, so everyone can share their stories, celebrate, and go forward together.” ~Roche Vandenberghe, Chief Marketing Officer at Globe

Globe powers Bacolod's MassKara Festival celebration with stable, fast 5G connectivity, proving its ongoing commitment for the City of Smiles.

MassKara is more than just a celebration of masks and songs; it is a representation of the resilience and optimism of the Bacolodnon people.   This same mindset drives Globe to keep forging stronger, faster, and more meaningful partnerships that enable progress and empower communities.

This year, Globe plans to roll out its 5G service throughout Bacolod City so that every MassKara tale and smile can be shared quickly.   To handle the surge of festival goers, the business has increased network capacity by installing more broadband lines in busy locations including Lacson Street, SM Bacolod, Robinsons, Paglaum Sports Complex, and the Public Plaza.   These enhancements guarantee flawless connectivity, quick uploads, and seamless livestreams during the celebrations.

Around 300 Globe cell sites, including 5G, are currently available in Bacolod and Negros Occidental, providing dependable and speedy service across the province.   Globe is expanding even further, securing Bacolod's position as the 5G-powered digital hub of the Visayas with over 30 5G-enhanced locations by 2025.

Globe now has about 600 Globe cell sites spread in Negros Oriental, with over 100 sites operational.   As a result, Negros is one of the most connected provinces in the country, making it easier to conduct daily activities as well as important events like MassKara.

In addition to its network upgrades, Globe is enhancing the festival experience with the GlobeOne app, which serves as a full digital companion for attendees.   From October 17 to October 19, festival goers can visit the Globe Festival Experiential Platform on Lacson Street to spin the "Wheel You Win," play the GFiber'Oke, trade Globe Rewards for personalized MassKara merchandise, and enter fun games and prizes.

Additionally, from October 13 to October 17, Globe SIM booths will be present at the Bacolod-Silay Airport to welcome new passengers and help them stay connected as soon as they land.   On October 17, The Dukes, Earl Agustin, and Infinite Ridge will perform at the G Music Fest at Capitol Lagoon, which unites residents and visitors for a night of music, joy, and camaraderie.

With freebies, special experiences, and on-ground activities, Globe's partners GCash, Jollibee, and Pettr increase the excitement and make MassKara livelier and more connected than before.

Globe's network is still helping Bacolod's tourism, education, retail, and logistics sectors as the celebrations come to an end.    Globe contributes to keeping the city's smiles bright, connected, and future-ready with every new 5G development.
