Tomas plant is a shining example of our commitment to building a future-ready organization that delivers both business excellence and meaningful impact. This transformation is no longer just a program: it’s a movement. We are building a resilient, high-performing organization guided by courageous people and enabled by world-class systems. ~Phyo Phyu Noe, PCPPI President and CEO

With the ongoing development and innovation of its Sto, Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc. PCPPI is expanding operations and integrating world-class standards in production, food safety, environmental stewardship, and community engagement as part of its ambitious transformation strategy.  The Sto.  As an example of operational excellence and growth driven by purpose, Tomas Plant is a prime example of these goals.

Innovation and Quality

The Sto is the location of the Southern Tagalog Regional Office (STRO).  To date, PCPPI's most sophisticated bottle production facility is the Tomas facility.  By making carbonated soft drinks in highly recyclable polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles, the company's newest PET line increases production capacity and strengthens its dedication to sustainability and circularity.

Mr. Christopher Papa, Plant Manager PCPPI Southern Tagalog Region Operations (STRO)

The plant currently produces the recognizable PepsiCo drinks that Filipinos have loved for more than 70 years over seven fully operational lines.  PCPPI's rigorous dedication to global quality, food safety, and operating standards is evident in every bottle it produces.

Commitment to Food Safety

PCPPI remains a prime example of how commitment and constancy are the finest ways to exhibit brilliance.  Sto is one of the company's 12 manufacturing plants in the country.  Tomas was recommended for the highly sought-after Food Safety System Certification (FSSC), which is an internationally accepted standard.

PCPPI has a distinct competitive edge thanks to its FSSC certification, which validates the company's ability to manufacture safe food and packaging products, reduce operational risks, execute resource optimization programs, fortify supply chain alliances, and maintain strict food safety regulations.

The FSSC-recommended facilities include plants in Santo Tomas, Muntinlupa, San Fernando, Rosario, Davao, Bacolod, Naga, Zamboanga, Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo, Tanauan, and Cebu City.

Sustainability at the Core

Mr. Phyo Phyu Noe, President and CEO Pepsi Cola Products Philippines, Inc. (PCCPI)

Sustainability practices are deeply embedded in the Sto. Tomas plant’s daily operations. PCPPI’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) milestones highlight its progress on multiple fronts:
  • 13,000 metric tons of post-consumer plastic collected under the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Law
  • 237 million liters of water saved through conservation and reuse technologies
  • 44% reduction in inventory losses thanks to improved supply chain and planning systems

These accomplishments reflect PCPPI’s unwavering focus on water stewardship, plastic circularity, and energy efficiency, proving that growth and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.

Building the Future

After its Annual Stockholders' Meeting, which just ended, PCPPI reiterated its transformation agenda, which is based on creativity, adaptability, and ethical business practices.  The Sto is preparing for the next stage of the business in 2025.  This journey is made possible in large part by Tomas Plant.

Atty. Carina S. Bayon, Chief ESG Officer Pepsi Cola Products Philippines, Inc. (PCCPI)

Beyond superior production quality, the Sto.  By creating jobs, assisting small businesses, and interacting with the community, Tomas Plant actively supports regional development.  More than 600 people from Batangas and the neighboring areas are currently employed by the facility.

Rico Blanco's "Paalam"

“Out of all the songs I’ve released, Paalam is the song that took me the longest to finish. Some songs I finish in minutes, days, or weeks, but this one has been a work in progress for many, many years. All these years, I kept waiting for the right singer to come along. Production-wise, I always knew how I wanted the song to sound. I wanted it to have a timeless arrangement, or some would say a bit traditional.” ~Rico Blanco

Rico Blanco returns with "Paalam," a hauntingly simple yet masterfully composed ballad that encapsulates the enduring imprint of goodbyes in all its bittersweet and hopeful glory, following the renewed success of his solo catalog, especially "Your Universe," which recently made it into Spotify Philippines' Top 10.

"Paalamexplores the emotional burden of parting, whether from a person, a chapter, a place, or a former self. It is equal parts love song and meditation on loss.  In Blanco's hands, saying farewell becomes a gift that provides clarity, grounding, and eventually healing in addition to being an act of release and reawakening.

The departure of a former bandmate in the 1990s served as the initial inspiration for the song, which developed over time and took on a more profound form after Blanco's brother passed away recently.  He was hesitant to record it for himself for years because he thought a different voice could be more appropriate.

However, the song's kundiman arrangements and complex orchestral buildup evoke something strong and primordial, as though Rico is sharing something intimate without fully revealing the plot.

Rico Blanco’s "Paalam" is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment.
