Kingston Leads Channel SSD Shipments in 2024

“We are proud to be recognized as the top SSD supplier once again. Our commitment to customers and channel partners has fueled the growth of our SSD business. This achievement reflects the dedication of our team, and we are grateful to celebrate this success together.” ~Kingston

Kingston Technology, a leader in memory and technology solutions worldwide, announced today that TrendForce has named them the channel's top third-party SSD supplier for the full year 2024. A staggering 36% of all units delivered globally in 2024 came from Kingston, according to statistics from TrendForce.

Kingston saw a rise in market share throughout 2023 and continued to have a commanding lead in SSD shipments in 2024.   The results confirmed Kingston's position as the undisputed leader in SSD manufacture, with only 13% of the channel market going to the second-place provider. This is primarily due to Kingston's premium SSD portfolio, wide global channel presence, and excellent customer support.

According to the latest study, 100% notebook SSD attach rates and consistently low consumer demand hindered retail SSD sales. Due to these factors, channel SSD shipments fell by 14% annually. However, as AI becomes more integrated into PCs and edge devices, it is expected that demand for high-capacity and high-performance SSDs will rise. Manufacturers who prioritize advanced technical integration, strategic channel development, and strong brand positioning will be better positioned to benefit from the impending SSD market boom.

Kingston significantly expanded their SSD line in 2024 with new products in the client, data center, industrial, and external categories. The NV3 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, which provided high capacity 4x4 NVMe PCIe performance in a tiny form factor, enhanced Kingston's client SSD offering. A high-performance PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD designed for use as an internal boot drive in high-volume rack-mount servers for data center applications, Kingston unveiled the DC2000B.

Additionally, Kingston unveiled the red XS1000 External SSD, which took home the 2024 Red Dot Award for Product Design. To further broaden its product offerings, Kingston enhanced its line of Industrial solid-state drives especially for system builders and design engineers. These next-generation locked-BOM SSDs provide robust storage capacity for demanding applications such as self-service kiosks, digital signage, robotics, point-of-sale systems, and video surveillance.
