“You can do something. Let’s talk cleaner energy.”
Let's talk about cleaner energy not just for me but for all the people breathing in the world. An international organization has launched the “Let’s Talk Cleaner Energy” campaign in the Philippines, challenging Filipinos to consider cleaner alternative energy sources that can power the country. The movement for renewable power has been rapidly advancing. India has brought down the cost of solar energy, and successfully made it cheaper than coal-generated power.
Through this a video these community and environment threats were illustrated that featured Filipinos wearing masks that bore the names of the deadliest storms to hit the country in the recent decade. The video parted with the message:

We were also presented with key visuals to encourage us to join in the conversation about the future of the planet.
Climate Reality Project, a global, multi-sectoral alliance advocating grassroots participation in climate change issues, hosted discussions with the media to explore the vulnerabilities faced coal-dependent countries, like the Philippines.
Reality check i had realized that we have to do our own share to act now before the surface of our core gets more worst, we have to save a good and clean air to breathe for ourself and for the future generations.
The event made me go back to the days when i was in high school discussing about science subject that has to do with oxygen, and all that matters with the air. I realized if only during the class my professor had extended more about the topic and explained more about climate change a lot of my age now could have been much educated about it. I'm not saying though that it wasn't discussed well during high school but it could have been broaden the knowledge about it but hey technology has it all a lot of information can be read, watch and searched via the web..... We now just have to know more about it and act now..........
“If there is one thing that we should talk about, shouldn’t it be our future? The Philippines has had opinion leaders start conversations on climate change on the global platform, but we need to unify these voices back home and commit to change our nation’s course. I believe that is what we are doing today. We have hydropower, geothermal energy, solar energy, wind power, and biomass. The Climate Reality Project Philippines Manager Mr. Rodne Galicha likewise called on his audience to recognize the impact of shying away from the conversation on climate change. Mr. Rodne Galicha explained a three-fold threat to the nation that only grows as it is delayed: the increasing rate of climate risk, the dependence on dwindling coal reserves, and the indifference of population accustomed to climate change.
The afternoon’s discussions explored topics on falling air quality, resource contamination and their health impacts, disruption and catastrophe from changed climate patterns, and viable alternatives to climate change-inducing coal.

At the end of the program, Climate Reality Project Philippines representatives made the symbolic gesture to fight climate change and coal-driven degradation by pushing a “stop the emission” button. The environmental advocates then removed their face masks and called on the audience, “Let’s talk cleaner energy.”
