Comedy Island Philippines, which is set to premiere on August 31 in the Philippines and in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. The six-part series will run for two weeks from August 31 to September 7 with three episodes streaming each week. During the press conference, director Randolph Longjas, producer Tanya Yuson of BASE Entertainment, Quark Henares, Head of Amazon Originals Philippines, Carlo Aquino, Andrea Brillantes, Cai Cortez, Justine Luzares, and Drew Arellano talked about the show’s unique genre and their fun experiences on the island on and off camera. Here are three things viewers can expect from the series.

A hybrid of scripted and improve

Comedy Island Philippines is a hybrid reality series that ingeniously blends comedy and adventure, scripted and unscripted formats, and planned and improvisational scenes. This means that some parts of the show are scripted, while other parts are purely up to the cast’s creativity and humor, taking viewers on a unique and fun viewing experience. This innovative genre highlights Prime Video's dedication to producing local content that not only entertains but also showcases authentic Filipino storytelling.

A solid ensemble cast

Comedy Island Philippines features seven comedians and actors from the Philippines as well as up-and-coming social media celebrities: Carlo Aquino, the Forever Crush ng Bayan; Rufa Mae Quinto, Super B; Andrea Brillantes, the Soap Opera Princess; Jerald Napoles, Theater and Indie Film Chameleon; Cai Cortez, the Nation’s Favorite Bestie; Awra Briguela, Viral Sensation Turned Comedy Superstar; Justine Luzares; the British Chismosa; and Drew Arellano as Dodong the gamemaster.

As they strive to survive in the mysterious Tawa-Tawa Island by playing in the island’s exhilarating so-called centennial games, viewers will be treated to the cast’s funny antics, hilarious bloopers, and unpredictable experiences.

The harder the laughs, the longer you stay

If you found yourself stranded on a remote island, what would you do to survive? In Comedy Island Philippines, Carlo Aquino, Rufa Mae Quinto, Andrea Brillantes, Jerald Napoles, Cai Cortez, Awra Briguela, and Justine Luzares compete for a chance to go home and bring a precious gift to humanity. In each episode, players take on different challenges that put their comedic and improv skills to the test. But there’s only one way to survive: make the people of the island laugh.

As the cast pulls out all stops to overcome each challenge with wit and determination (unscripted, of course), Comedy Island Philippines sets the stage for a unique entertainment that appeals not only to Pinoys but also to global audiences.

Will the players survive and find their way home? Find out and watch Comedy Island Philippines, and let fun and adventure begin, only on Prime Video!

“Enchanted Kingdom is committed to sharing and upholding Eldar the Wizard’s positive values of kindness, humility, patience, honesty, diligence, generosity and love for God and family. We hope that through our efforts of improving the children’s learning environment, we will be able to encourage the youth to adopt and put these positive values into practice.” ~Mr. Mario Mamon, Chairman and President of EK

Enchanted Kingdom's dedication to supporting education through initiatives like donating classrooms is commendable. By contributing to this program, Enchanted Kingdom is helping create a positive impact on education and the local community in Santa Rosa City, Laguna. This kind of corporate social responsibility plays a crucial role in enhancing educational opportunities and facilities for students.

According to DepEd, this year’s theme “Bayanihan Para sa Matatag na Paaralan,” underscored the country’s volunteer initiatives to ensure a clean, safe, inclusive, and child-friendly learning environment for learners and teaching and non-teaching personnel, and strengthen resiliency of schools and basic education.

The Adopt-a-Classroom Program a corporate social responsibility initiative by Enchanted Kingdom (EK), a theme park located in the Philippines. The program focuses on creating a better learning environment for students by renovating and improving classrooms. This initiative aligns with EK's advocacy for promoting a fun, unique, and healthy learning environment.

As part of the program, EK's maintenance personnel and visual artists work together to repair, upgrade, and repaint the classrooms that have been turned over to them. This effort contributes to enhancing the physical infrastructure of the classrooms, making them more conducive to learning.

Mr. Mario Mamon, the Chairman and President of Enchanted Kingdom, has expressed the theme park's ongoing commitment to supporting the Department of Education's (DepEd) Brigada Eskwela program. Brigada Eskwela is a nationwide initiative in the Philippines that encourages volunteers from communities, businesses, and organizations to help prepare public schools for the upcoming school year. EK's involvement in this program reflects their dedication to giving back to the community, particularly in the City of Santa Rosa, Laguna, where Enchanted Kingdom is located.

Overall, the Adopt-a-Classroom program demonstrates Enchanted Kingdom's dedication to improving educational facilities and fostering a positive learning environment for students while also contributing to the betterment of the local community.

Ajinomoto: Celebrating 65 Years in The Philippines

“This is a milestone for Ajinomoto as we continue our journey towards sustainability. With every purchase of AJI-NO-MOTO Umami Seasoning 45g, we want our customers to know that they are contributing to a more sustainable world.” ~Ernesto Carlos, APC Group Chief Sustainability Officer

Happy 65th anniversary Ajinomoto!

True to the "Eat Well, Live Well" promise, Ajinomoto Philippines Corporation (APC) is committed to realize its vision to co-create better wellness for Filipinos by helping resolve food and health issues.

In the Philippines, Ajinomoto has a long history dating back to 1958 when AJINOMOTO PHILIPPINES CORPORATION (APC) was established. Over the years, APC has grown into a reputable food company providing Filipino consumers with delicious and nourishing meals promoting culinary confidence and nutrition alertness.

Eat Well, Live Well

Since its founding, the Ajinomoto Group has been committed to promoting nutritious and delicious meals and is working to address nutrition-related challenges. It aims to realize its vision of solving global food and health issues by using its expertise in Amino Science.

By 2030, the Ajinomoto Group would like to realize two outcomes: Help extend the healthy life expectancy of 1 billion people.  Reduce our environmental impact by 50%, while improving business performance.

Environment Sustainability

In 2021, APC formed the Sustainability Committee, whose role is to lead the environmental efforts of the company.  APC has set its comprehensive roadmap with a long-term outlook.

As a company doing its part in shaping a more sustainable future, APC Group took the lead to promote responsible consumption through the launch of the iconic AJI-NO-MOTO® Umami Seasoning 45g, the first seasoning in paper packaging in the Philippine market.

Since June 2022, APC Factory in Bulacan has been operating with renewable energy through solar power energization.  This milestone has been made possible through partnership with Meralco-owned solar company Spectrum.

To create a synergy that will advance the company’s sustainability efforts, APC Group joined the Philippine Alliance for Recycling and Material Sustainability (PARMS) as an investing partner.   PARMS is a multi-stakeholder coalition anchored on spearheading holistic and comprehensive programs to increase resource recovery and reduce landfill dependence.

Health & Nutrition

The Ajinomoto Group aims to help people live healthier lives through “Nutrition Without Comprise”. When nutritious food tastes good, is easily accessible, and respects local customs and flavors, global health can be optimized.

One of the health issues the Philippines faces is about Filipino’s high sodium intake which is more than twice the recommendation of the World Health Organization.  A high sodium diet can have adverse health effects that can lead to hypertension, heart, and kidney disease.

Understanding consumers’ challenge on how to lessen sodium intake, APC launched BawAsin® (Bawasan ang paggamit ng asin at panatilihing masarap ang lutuin) campaign.  This is an effort offering practical solutions to help consumers live healthier by reducing salt intake with sacrificing deliciousness.

Toward A Bright Future

APC is honored to be a steadfast partner of Filipino homes with its product being staples in the kitchen and its nutrition and sustainability efforts benefitting the society.

“As challenges around food and health become more diverse, we, at Ajinomoto, aim to contribute to improved health and eating habits for people around the world. In the local scene, Ajinomoto is partnering with like-minded organizations to lead the change for a better world and co-create a happy and healthier Philippine society.” ~Koichi Ozaki, APC President

In the years to come, as a solution-providing company, APC is committed to being at the forefront working towards contributing to the health and well-being of Filipino society staying true to its promise to constantly be a partner in helping Filipinos eat well and live well.
