A Heritage of Giving

The history of Negros Occidental is rife with opportunities to lend a hand to others. This holiday month, the Negros Season of Culture brings to the center of celebrations the works of NGOs whose missions have become modern-day conduits of this heritage of giving.

We celebrate the arrival of good news by singing the account of Christ's birth. According to Hiligaynon musical custom, the song O Senyor Tagbalay! opens the daigon or caroling, repeating Joseph's request for Mary to have a room. The singers of the De La Salle Chorale contribute their voices to plead with everyone to open their doors to love and the Christ child in front of the imposing façade of the Provincial Capitol of Negros Occidental. Singers from the Kalipay Negrense Foundation and Suntown Camp Foundation are joining the chorale. Children battling cancer and other critical conditions find solace at Suntown. Kalipay is a home for abused and abandoned children. We hope you think of them this Christmas.

We frequently overlook the person who makes our New Year's celebrations "happy." No, not now. We honor a specific person who has contributed to our heritage, from the kitchens of our historic hacienda homes to the kitchens of our contemporary subdivision homes, as we get closer to 2023. A three-part documentary series called Kusinera Diaries pays homage to one of the most important figures in the Negrenses' traditional home: the cook. Of course, favorite holiday family fare is a part of this tale as well. More importantly though, we appreciate the role the kusinera plays in our kitchens and its contributions. Many of them have given us their entire productive lives.  Many more have chosen not to get married in order to spend more time with our families. And so, meet Dhalia, Alicia, and Dominga. DITO Telecommunity launched its international services promotions for International Direct Dialing (IDD) and roaming services in order to provide Filipinos with the most cost-effective options for staying in touch with friends and family anywhere in the world.

Subscriptions to the new DITO IDD promo packs, which will be available from October 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023, will be able to get more minutes for IDD calls to other parts of the world at prices that are lower.

Customers can make 25-minute IDD incoming calls to the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, China, Singapore, Malaysia, and South Korea for only P50, good for 15 days, with the DITO IDD Promo Pack One. They can also get the DITO IDD Promo Pack Two, which costs P100 and allows them to make outgoing IDD calls for 60 minutes to the same countries for 30 days.

The DITO IDD Promo Pack Three can be used to make 20 minutes of IDD outgoing calls for only P100 to loved ones in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, India, Japan, and Thailand. The validity of this promotional pack is 30 days.

Subscribers can make five-minute IDD outgoing calls to Bahrain, Israel, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, France, Italy, Spain, Brunei, Indonesia, Macao, Taiwan, and Vietnam with the P100 DITO IDD Promo Pack Four. The validity of this promotional pack is 30 days.

For messaging apps like Viber, Facebook Messenger, Whatsapp, Telegram, WeChat, Line, Skype, Kakao Talk, and Zoom, all DITO IDD promo packs include 1GB of data. 

Additionally, DITO launched a promotion for its roaming service, which guarantees that customers will continue to use their SIMs when traveling abroad. DITOzens who reside in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, Indonesia, and Thailand can purchase DITO Roaming Promo Packs solely for data use beginning on December 20. P150 for 100MB of bonus data with a one-day validity, P250 for 200MB of bonus data with a three-day validity, and P600 for 500MB of bonus data with a seven-day validity.

On January 13, they will also be able to use their DITO SIM to make five minutes of incoming or outgoing calls as well as five SMS for only P150 (160 characters per SMS), which is good for three days.
