Allianz Solidifies Support for Para-OCR Athletes in the Upcoming ASEAN Para-Games

Allianz Philippines announced that they're now the Official Life Insurance Partner of the Philippine Para-Obstacle Course Racing National Training Pool and National Team for 2020 in partnership with Pilipinas Obstacle Sports Federation, Inc. (POSF) to further promote obstacle course racing in the country. 


The national sports association accredited by the Philippine Sports Commission, recognized by the Philippine Olympic Committee, and sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de Sports obstacles (FISO) or World OCR, the International Federation on Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) and OCR Asia.

Para-OCR has been officially included as a Demonstration Sport in the 10th ASEAN Para-Games, which the Philippines will host this January 2020. The POSF has already chosen the members of its Para-OCR National Training Pool (NTP) and will soon select the members of the National Team (NT) in the coming months.

Under the agreement between Allianz and POSF, the former will provide financial assistance that will be used for the development and welfare of the members of the Para-OCR NTP and NT.



Allianz will also grant life and medical insurance as well as travel insurance during the athletes’ training period. As part of their preparation, the NTP and NT will be training and competing here and abroad.

Huge Arctic Display at SM Dasmariñas

SM City Dasmariñas brings you the giant arctic display with the fury animals from the North such as Caribou (reindeer), Arctic Fox, Seals and Penguins.
SM Dasmariñas brings the northernmost and coldest part of the Earth - the Arctic, through its launching a Huge Arctic Display in the South. In 2017, SM Supermalls made a mark by bringing to life pre-historic creatures through Dinos in the Mall. In 2018, shoppers experienced the wonders of an African savannah with Jungle Safari. These two series of life-size displays traveled through SM South Luzon’s 15 malls - from Cavite all the way to the Bicol region.

The Arctic in the South is another thrilling and chilling journey to all SM shoppers as it launches on July 20, 2019, at the mall atrium of SM City Dasmariñas. This giant arctic display has a life-size interactive set-up that creates an exceptional and excellent malling experience for all, especially for children. 

SM South Luzon brings you the sub-zero adventure with its giant display dubbed as Arctic in the South.
It features eight (8) life-size replicas of Arctic animals - Polar Bear, Arctic Fox, Beluga Whale, Seal, Pacific Walrus, Orca, Caribou (Reindeer) and Humpback tail. These featured animals belong to UN Habitat’s 10 endangered Arctic animals. The centerpiece also fosters learning through facts and trivia related to the Arctic setting and the natural habitat of featured animals through school tours at the mall.

During the launch, arctic mascot friends perform and interact with children while wearing their boots and fur costumes. Along with the display launch, in-theme pocket activities like mascot meet-and-greet, coloring sessions, and face painting are also held at the mall atrium.

The Arctic in the South is in partnership with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). SM is one with WWF in its mission to conserve nature and reduce the pressing threats to the diversity of life on Earth. Shopee launches its first-ever scholarship program

Shopee is excited to launch its first-ever scholarship program with the aim of helping sellers achieve their hopes and dreams for their children. Shopee, the leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, launches its first-ever scholarship program called Shopee Scholars for the benefit of Shopee sellers and their families. Eligible Shopee sellers can sign up for a chance to receive a one-year scholarship worth ₱100,000 for their children. Three children of Shopee sellers will receive a 1-year scholarship grant worth ₱100,000 each. 

Starting July 19, Shopee sellers who are active for 6 months or more on the Shopee platform and have a shop rating of no less than 4 out of 5 stars can start nominating their children for the scholarship program. In order to qualify, their child must also be an incoming college student or currently enrolled in a university. 

In order to participate, sellers need to follow these steps:

  3. Shopee scholarship nominee should submit a 300-500 essay for the program.

Behind every Oris watch lies a story... Oris has been based in the Swiss town of Holstein since the brand was founded in 1904, by the two pioneering watchmakers, Georges Christian, and Paul Cattin. They bought the closed Lohner & Co watch factory, and from its embers, they set about creating a business that would deliver high-quality, industrially produced watches with real-world functionality and with prices that make sense. Oris watches are also popular, as celebrities from Formula One, diving, jazz and aviation queue up to wear and support our unique creations.
