Success stories rarely happen overnight, but for one hard working individual, it happened  Once a poor immigrant living in San Jose’s projects, Gurbaksh Chahal's  struck it rich when he sold his first company for tens of millions of dollars as a teenager and moved into a San Francisco penthouse. His inspirational story was even the subject of a 2008 appearance on the Oprah Winfrey show.

Chahal was born in India and moved to the U.S. when he was 4. His family had “about 25 bucks,” he said in a 2008 episode of the reality television show Secret Millionaire. He dropped out of high school to launch advertising company Click Agents when he was 16, and sold the company for $40 million in 2000 when he was 18.

To add even more to his already filled plate, Chahal wrote a novel called The Dream: How I Learned the Risks and Rewards of Entrepreneurship and Made Millions. One of America’s most successful young internet entrepreneurs, he shares his unique and inspiring story with the world and how he can encourage those to pursue their dreams early and continue to fight for what you want out of life. A true success story, having emigrated to the United States with his Skh family, today he is now one of the youngest executives of a multi-billion dollar NADSAQ-listed company. His novel shares that advice for future entrepreneurs to help them embrace that risk and carve out their new niches in the marketplace. He emphasizes the value of good business timing: how to execute an idea and get it to the marketplace, how to create and maintain solid business relationships, and how to stay grounded. However, most importantly, Chahal teaches yourself that failure is not an option and how to overcome it. Chahal's story not only shows how a 16-year-old immigrant overcame discrimination and adversity to fulfill his highest ambitions but also provides aspiring entrepreneurs with valuable hands-on advice on how to achieve success.

In 2006, BlueLithium received the highest honor of Top Innovator of the Year in acknowledgment of its achievement. To put it in perspective, such companies as Skype and Google can also boast of receiving this award. It is therefore not surprising that in 2007 BlueLithium was acquired by Yahoo! for the mind-blowing sum of three hundred million dollars, rocketing Chahal to the entrepreneurial stratosphere.

However, Gurbaksh was not going to rest on his laurels – far from it! In 2009, he launched a whole new business. RadiumOne, a multi-channel DSP, his third successful company. Later, came the fourth, Gravity4, an innovative company with a global presence that employs over four hundred people worldwide.

In 2009, Chahal started RadiumOne, an online ad company that focused on creating a new category of real-time advertising.

Gurbaksh Chahal is willing to share his experience and vision on his blog, he’s also a contributing author of The Huffington Post and often becomes a hero of other publications. Up till now, he’s one of the few Indian-Americans to have been invited to the Oprah Winfrey Show, and he’s also appeared on many other television shows.

Apart from public acclaim, he’s also won a number of professional awards. To name just a few they are:
  • “Always on Top Innovator of the Year” award in 2006.
  • “BusinessWeek, Best Young Tech Entrepreneurs” award in 2010.
  • “Pace University, Leaders in Management Award” along with an honorary degree in “Commercial Science” in 2010.
