McDonald’s and their customers surprise over 30,000 delivery riders through its McDeliverBack program

Through McDonald's McDeliverBack program, delivery riders who delivered a McDonald's breakfast on March 16 from McDelivery, GrabFood, and foodpanda were also treated to breakfast from McDonald’s. With the help of thousands of Filipinos who decided to McDeliverBack, over 30,000 delivery riders nationwide received the special treat of a free Cheesy Eggdesal meal with Minute Maid!

A year into the lockdowns, delivery services have become a way of life. We rely especially on delivery riders to make our everyday lives easier.

It is in honoring and thanking these unsung heroes for their service that McDonald’s invited its customers to treat delivery riders to a FREE breakfast meal as a way to say thanks for braving the streets every day to keep Filipinos happily fed and safe indoors during the pandemic.

Watch the video on McDonald’s Facebook page and see how McDonald’s and its customers gave back to the everyday heroes of the pandemic.

Don’t forget to thank your riders the next time you have your McDonald’s favorites delivered! Download the McDo PH App at the App Store and Google Play or order via mcdelivery.com.ph.

foodpanda surprises delivery partners around the Philippines

“For rider’s month this 2021, we wanted to celebrate foodpanda riders and give back for all the work they do, especially since they carry foodpanda’s name every day and everywhere they go. We not only thank our loyal customers for trusting foodpanda, but we also want to show our unending gratitude to our riders for serving Filipinos.” ~Daniel Marogy, foodpanda Philippines Managing Director

Not all heroes wear capes. In the time of COVID-19, they come in pink long-sleeved shirts, bulky helmets, layers of facemasks, and a two-wheeled batmobile.

foodpanda, the leading food delivery service in the Philippines, doesn’t just deliver food but also delivers life-changing experiences. Recognizing this, foodpanda launched an online series that highlights the daily lives of their different riders called the Ka-panda Adventures

The episodes feature three riders:
  • Jemar Villocillo
  • Stefhaniel David Ong
  • Maria Nazareth Gepayo
Who all share the exhilarating, exciting, but altogether worthwhile experience of being a foodpanda delivery partner.

The first episode “Rider Sweet Vlogger” spotlights Jemar Villocillo who became a vlogger while delivering food to his customers. Since then, he has had 8 thousand subscribers, who he calls ka-Waray, with whom he shares his misadventures, challenges, and accomplishments. He was surprised with a GoPro camera during the episode as a token from foodpanda for him to continue his vlogging endeavors!

Stefhaniel David Ong, a working student, talks about his first day blooper on the second episode “First Day Oops.” Out of excitement, he ran a red light and was reprimanded by a police officer, making it the most memorable first day ever. Despite the blunder, he was still so excited to work for foodpanda and learned from this experience. In the end, he was surprised by a laptop that he can use when he resumes his online studies.

Last, but certainly not least, foodpanda “Super Biker Mom” Maria Nazareth Gepayo, who is a mother of 2, shared her most unforgettable experience on riding despite heavy rains to deliver food to a family who had no means of getting dinner otherwise. To show foodpanda’s appreciation for her dedication, she was given a high chair for her kids and a laptop for personal use.

To extend its gratitude to other riders, foodpanda has also arranged to get Chowking meals for its riders nationwide. If there's anything the pandemic has revealed, it's that these people, who deliver our breakfast, lunch, dinner, and all cravings in between are essential workers too. They continue to provide exemplary service in order to deliver our needs despite the daily challenges and ongoing worries.

9 GCash-friendly Online Stores for your Quarantine Needs and Cravings

In this time of ECQ addressing our basic needs and satisfying our cravings seem to be harder. As we observe intensive physical distancing we still cannot resist getting the things we need and the food we love. Here are some GCash friendly online stores to address your ECQ needs and cravings.

Enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) is really giving Filipinos a hard time going out and buy their food either from groceries, supermarkets, and public markets. And I bet a lot of you might be running out of stock of foods for the entire family.

Do you feel like you’re running out of options for your essentials and cravings this enhanced community quarantine (ECQ). You might be having problems looking for cashless stores to avoid getting the virus through money bills. Or maybe you’re just tired of the same, old online sellers you go to for your quarantine needs.

Whether it be groceries, your skincare needs, or even a good milk tea fix, here are nine online gems that are bound to save you from your quarantine woes. BONUS: They’re all cashless thanks to GCash!

1. Session Groceries.

While grocery stores remain open regardless of the ECQ, many people still find it safer to stay at home and have the goods delivered to their doorstep. This option is also convenient in more ways than one since it saves time driving to and from the supermarkets. You can order your weekly groceries through their mobile app which is free and easily accessible. They cater to homes not just in Metro Manila but in nearby provinces such as Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal as well!

Contact them via their Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/sessiongroceriesph or message them at 09175010267.

2. FoodPanda, GrabFood, LalaFood

Everybody’s quarantine best friend. The best thing about these food delivery apps is that it’s essentially the entire world of food packaged in an app. Perfect for those working and studying at home during the ECQ, meals can be delivered to you with just a few taps on your smartphone instead of spending hours in the kitchen which could have been spent being productive instead. It’s perfect for people who miss eating outside as well! To use GCash, you can link your GCash Mastercard to your account under the “My Linked Accounts” tab in the GCash app!

FoodPanda, GrabFood, and LalaFood are available in GooglePlay and the App Store.

3. Beauté Essentials by Beautéderm

Are you panicking over your depleting stock of skincare products? Just because we’re all in quarantine, it doesn’t mean that we can come out of it with bad skin! Keep on doing your skincare routine with products from this online store while staying safe because you can pay via GCash as well!

Contact them via their Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/BeauteEssentialsByBeautederm/ or message them at 09271356564.

4. Piggy Blinders Cebu

The ECQ isn’t only implemented in Metro Manila, because LGUs outside Luzon also imposed it for their constituents’ safety as well. For those stuck in their homes in Cebu because of COVID-19, Piggy Blinders delivers racks of mouth-watering grilled ribs to ease cravings. Why not have a barbecue party in your backyard?

For orders and reservations message their Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/PiggyBlindersCebu/ or contact 09957554371.

5. J&E Trading

It’s literally survival of the fittest when it comes to looking for medical supplies nowadays. It’s a rare sight to see face masks on drug store and supermarket shelves because everyone wants to protect themselves and their family from possible infection. If you’re looking for masks, give their store a try by shooting them a message on Facebook.

For orders, you can message their Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/jandetrading or contact them at 09169062456 or tradingjel@gmail.com.

6. Hebrews Shebrews PH (Cebu)

9. My Own Meatshop

One of the establishments remaining open despite ECQ is wet markets. But if you’re playing the game safe, then you’re probably wondering about online alternatives as well. My Own Meatshop lets you choose fresh cuts from its social media page and delivers produce to your home. They also use GCash, of course!

My Own Meatshop is only accepting orders via this form: http://bit.ly/MyOwnOrderForm.

While thousands more online sellers use GCash as a mode of payment, GCash users can also use the app to pay merchants who only have bank transfer as their checkout option. Through the Bank Transfer feature, GCash users may send money to almost 40 banks quickly and securely.

By leveraging digital technologies and innovative solutions, we can expand our options during this global health crisis.
