Orient Star is celebrating its 75th anniversary with the appointment of globally active Japanese actor and artist Masaki Suda as its new brand ambassador. The anniversary campaign will initially launch across Japan, Thailand, the Philippines, and Taiwan.
Founded in 1951, Orient Star has built its identity around the creation of mechanical watches worthy of being called shining stars. Through fully integrated, in-house manufacturing, the brand has continuously pursued its vision of creating exceptional timepieces. As it reaches its 75-year milestone, Orient Star is welcoming Suda to help introduce its heritage, craftsmanship, and enduring appeal to an even wider audience.
Suda is known for his versatility as an actor, taking on diverse roles across numerous acclaimed productions. Beyond acting, he is also active as an artist, continuously challenging conventions while exploring new forms of creative expression and personal potential.
Suda's individuality and strong influence across fashion and culture also complement Orient Star's philosophy. While maintaining the traditions of mechanical watchmaking, the brand has continued to evolve through the adoption of new technologies and innovative design approaches.
To introduce Suda as its new brand ambassador, Orient Star is unveiling campaign key visuals featuring him wearing two special timepieces. The first is the Orient Star Skeleton, a flagship model created to commemorate the brand's 75th anniversary and showcase the history and technical expertise behind one of its signature skeleton watch lines.
The second is the Three Hand, the first model released under the Sakigake Design Project. Sakigake, meaning “forerunner” in Japanese, represents the project's focus on innovation and the exploration of new aesthetics.
A behind-the-scenes video from the campaign's photo shoot will also be released, giving audiences a closer look at the collaboration.
Moving forward, Orient Star will continue using sophisticated visual campaigns and content featuring Masaki Suda to communicate the value of time and the distinctive worldview at the heart of the brand.
