Araneta City salutes all generations of Filipino heroes for National Heroes Day 2021

Araneta City is set to celebrate the National Heroes Day on August 27 to 30 with activities as tribute to the heroic efforts of all generations of Filipinos. Witness the stories of heroism as it unfold at the City of Firsts. 

A series of on-ground and online events are slated to give salutation to our country’s heroes: 

The commemoration at the City of Firsts will start on August 27 with the launch of the #LivingHeroes virtual exhibit in partnership with the J. Amado Araneta Foundation (JAAF). The exhibit will feature exemplary and inspiring stories of modern-day Pinoy heroes who made an impact during the pandemic. 

The virtual exhibit will also be open as a photo exhibit at the Gateway Mall Activity Area on August 28. 

The online community must also watch out for the announcement of the #AranetaNewHeroes costume contest via Araneta City’s Tiktok account, which will put to test the creativity of netizens and their familiarity on Filipino heroes. Entries will be accepted from August 27 to 30, with the winner to be announced on August 31 and take home Php 10,000.

Also, get to know the revolutionary generals behind the names of the six major roads in Araneta City. As part of the National Heroes Day, Araneta City will post a trivia story on its blogsite on August 29 to recount the history and origin behind the naming of these thoroughfares.

The Philippine National Anthem (Lupang Hinirang) was composed by Julian Felipe as instructed by General Emilio Aguinaldo. It was first played publicly on June 12, 1898, by the town band of San Francisco de Malabon on the occasion of the proclamation of Philippine Independence and the unfurling of the Philippine Flag in Kawit, Cavite.

Ayala Foundation Launches New National Anthem Video on National Heroes Day.

In celebration of National Heroes Day, Ayala Foundation launched its new National Anthem video before members of the press at the historic Tutuban Center in Manila. It honors the daily work of ordinary Filipinos in building the nation—parents, workers, civil servants, and others who work with honesty and dignity for their families, their communities, and the country.

Every Nation has its own Distinctive Identity, a National Anthem is one of the main aspects of every Nation which signifies the Nation’s Status on Which People of That Nation can be proud of.

The new National Anthem video adheres to the Ayala Foundation’s ongoing Maging Magiting campaign, which promotes the love of country and recognizing the extraordinary virtues of ordinary Filipinos. It was developed and produced by Ayala Foundation, with the support of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, and will be shown in all Ayala Cinemas starting September 2019.

The new video features everyday Filipino heroes, those who work hard for themselves, their families, and the country day-to-day while, at the same time, showcasing the country’s accelerated growth and prosperity.

Volunteers from Ayala companies likewise appeared in the video, showcasing their kagitingan and demonstrating Ayala’s commitment to building the nation. They were joined by volunteers from Ayala’s partner communities and institutions.

The video is coming soon to all Ayala Malls Cinemas nationwide.
