#51 Astra Pimentel, Sandigan ng Bawat Pilipino

It is indeed a hot topic nowadays all over the Philippines how hot the the politics as a topic nowadays, and only more than a week from now we will be having our national election day. Many may have noticed I don't often posts anything about politics on my wall, but there is this one senatorial candidate I am proud to known and be elected because I believe she deserves a seat in the senate.

Honestly, at first I am not so familiar who (#51) Astra Pimentel, after I knew about who the politician to cover I started searching online for Who is Astra Pimentel. I get to know her during the event and sincerely listen to her wisdoms, advocacy, and future plans. Even though Astra Pimentel comes from the Pimentel political family, she has her own identity, She wanted to be the “voice” of the indigenous peoples (IPs) in the Senate, because she belongs to the IP community. Her parents were Talaandig and Higaonon tribe. Her grandfather was a combination of Maranao and Maguindanao. She found it very endearing that there should be a voice among the IPs in the Senate because there are so many issues that need to be addressed. If elected as senator, Pimentel said she would focus on tourism for job creation and poverty reduction

I really admire women who runs any position in the government, we need someone like Astra Pimentel. What also struck me the most is about what she said "Hindi nyo po kelangang lumapit sa'kin, ako po mismo ang lalapit sa inyo."

Who is Astra Pimentel

Astravel Pimentel-Naik, born in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, a government employee. She was appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte as executive director of the Commission on Filipinos Overseas in 2018. She worked at the office of Senate President Aquilino Pimentel III as assistant to the chief of staff. She was also a coordinator for PDP-Laban. Naik is a distant relative of Senator Pimentel.

Her will Focus on the Senate:
  • OFW's
  • Women and Children
  • Indigenous people IP
  • Tourism (Agri and Eco-Tourism: Job Creation)
  • Federalism

Alongside PDP-Laban 11point Aged for continuity:
  1. Fight Against Corruption
  2. Eradication of Poverty
  3. Strengthening Peace and Order
  4. Ending the Pandemic
  5. Defeating Communist Terrorism
  6. Economic Recovery
  7. Defense and Foreign Affairs
  8. Employment
  9. Education
  10. Decentralization and Local Government
  11. Charter-Change and Federalism

Astra Pimentel's other plans include:
  • She would focus on tourism for job creation and poverty reduction. Tourism will not only strengthen our economy. Tourism will strengthen MSMEs (micro, small and medium enterprises) as well, because thriving businessmen and 'yung mga maliliit natin na mga (our small) businessmen ay magkakaroon ng oportunidad para sila ay lumawak ang kanilang negosyo (will have the opportunity to expand their business). The more tourists that we have, the more opportunity for people to have food on their table.
  • She would also work on expanding the Republic Act 10931 or the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act to provide opportunities for students who did not finish at the top of their class. Scholarship should not be limited only to those students na nagpakita ng kanilang katalinuhan (who show intelligence).
  • She would push for transportation for IP children, especially those living upland. The infrastructure program of the government should be continued up to the far-flung areas. Wherever there are Filipinos living in the countryside, dapat mayroong (there should be) access to road
  • She said she would lobby for measures to construct rural infrastructure aimed at improving agricultural productivity.
  • Farmers will also be given training courses and seminars to help them learn more about the various aspects of agriculture.

With the support of his husband sir Mohamad Ali “Coco” Naik of AKO OFW PARTYLISTS (#10), who advocates and keepers organization of OFW for giving service and welfare in providing additional OFW wards at hospitals, pension plan, OFW village, OFW advisory council in every barangay  and  other livelihood programs for all OFW families.

We both need them in the senate together we could have a parents in the senate that will take good care of the family (nation) for a better country.

I am supporting them to WIN so let us vote them #51 Astra Pimentel sa Senadao and #10 AKO OFW PARTYLIST.

Lider. Ina. Manilena.

Christy Lim, the daughter of the late Mayor Alfredo Lim has declared her candidacy for Mayor this coming 2022 elections. She has decided to join the race for the top post of Manila to continue the legacy of her father and to launch relevant programs that would benefit the majority of the residents. She was the right hand woman of her father and was at his side when he served as Mayor for over 12 years.

She is a true-blue Manilena, born and raised in Tondo. She was inculcated in the disciplinary ways of her father and imbibed the caring and affectionate nature of  her mother. Because of this upbringing, she has learned the value of genuine service and love for others. As an businesswoman and mother, she will harness the use of technology and forge partnerships to hasten the delivery of service to Manilenos. Like the advocacy of her father, her Lingap Ng Inang Manileno has helped over 6,000 residents from District 1 to 6 of Manila.

She is determined to serve Manila to the best of her ability. She has laid down her priorities for her term which aim to benefit both the resident and the city itself.  Her Ten- point Agenda includes Clean Government, Health, Response, Investment, Tourism, Safety, Youth, Livelihood, Infrastructure and the Manilenos. These programs are the foundation of her mantra
“genuine concern and service for the City of Manila”.

She is running under the banner of Partido Reporma, together with Lucy Lapini for Vice Mayor and Ian Halili for Councilor.

Christy Lim is offering herself to Manila. Nothing encapsulates what she is more than her battlecry.
