BARBIE in the East a Rizal Inter-Town Filipiniana Fashion Competition!

SM City Taytay launches Barbie in the East last June 4, 2018. Taytay, Rizal - In celebration of 117th Araw ng Lalawigan ng Rizal and 120th Philippine Independence Day, SM City Taytay together with Richprime Global Inc., Mattel, Toy Kingdom and the Association of Tourism Officers of Rizal give you Barbie in the East.


From the different towns and City of Rizal, a creation of creativity, Innovation, and Heritage to their Barbie in a Filipiniana entries all of them are definitely amazing. A part of the celebration of Araw ng Lalawigan ng Rizal an event that celebrates the fusion of creativity, Innovation, and Heritage.

The event was a joint effort of people and institutions who are passionate about creativity, innovation, and heritage of the province of Rizal. Barbie in the East is by far one of the most unique collaborations in celebration of the 117th Araw ng Lalawigan ng Rizal. Showcasing Barbie dressed in different gowns represented by 13 towns and 1 city in Rizal.

Barbie in the East aims to urge creativity and resourcefulness to each participants representing their municipalities depicting their culture and lifestyle. These creations were hand-made by each representative's last May 25, 2018, at SM City Taytay.

Barbie is a fashion doll manufactured by the American toy company Mattel, Inc. and launched in March 1959. Barbie has been an important part of the toy fashion doll market for over fifty years and has been the subject of numerous controversies and lawsuits, often involving parodies of the doll and her lifestyle.
