A CBRT bus stands ready for commuters at the Il Corso stop in Cebu’s
South Road Properties. |
Filinvest Land, Inc. (FLI) applauded the launch of the Cebu Bus Rapid Transit (CBRT) service, which now provides direct access to Il Corso at the South Road Properties (SRP) and Cebu IT Park, as a major step in strengthening Cebu's transportation infrastructure. The system is expected to serve tens of thousands of people daily, improving mobility and expanding community access to key commercial and employment regions.
When the CBRT service began operating on March 13, Cebu's efforts to modernize its public transportation system hit a significant turning point. The first route goes from Il Corso at the South Road Properties to Cebu IT Park via Natalio Bacalso Avenue, Osmeña Boulevard, and N, Cebu City's primary north-south thoroughfare. Escario in the street. The system, which is intended to run at an average speed of around 25 kilometers per hour, allows commuters to go between the SRP and Cebu IT Park in about 35 to 40 minutes compared to traditional road-based transit along the same corridor.
For residents in City di Mare, visitors to Il Corso, tenant laborers, and nearby villages in Talisay, the new system provides a direct and efficient route to Cebu City's major business and commercial sectors. This improved access improves the pool of workers available to businesses, encourages workforce mobility, and enables more people to access job opportunities across significant economic hubs, all of which contribute to a more dynamic and interconnected urban economy.
Filinvest Land announced its support for the project in collaboration with the Cebu City Government, recognizing that improved transportation infrastructure is critical to building stronger community ties and stimulating regional economic activity.
The southern entrance of the route is home to Filinvest Land's waterfront retail development, Il Corso, at the South Road Properties. Originally designed as an outdoor lifestyle destination along Cebu's coastline, Il Corso has evolved into a gathering place for both locals and visitors, offering a range of waterfront, gastronomic, and recreational experiences.
Through initiatives like Il Corso and its collaboration with local government partners, Filinvest Land remains committed to supporting projects that enhance connectivity, stimulate local businesses, and further Cebu's long-term growth.
