The Largest Legal Community-led Marathon in Cebu is returning

“As a runner and content creator, staying connected during every race is essential. I can’t wait to document my experience and share every moment with my followers.” ~Doris Baguio Daño, Ultramarathoner and Content Creator, also known as DB Runner

Runners and fitness enthusiasts are getting ready for a bigger and more immersive marathon experience when the IBP: Cebu Tricity Marathon comes in October 2026 at Robinsons Galleria Cebu.

The marathon, which is currently in its fourth year and was originally known as the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Cebu Run, encourages members of the general public and the legal community to compete in a race with the goal of inspiring competitors of all abilities. Participants may look forward to new categories, better products, and the eagerly anticipated tri-city route through Cebu, Mandaue, and Talisay. The course highlights the area and is lively and difficult.

Even so, the event fosters social responsibility and wellbeing in addition to individual accomplishments. This year's edition boosts its impact and makes it possible for each kilometer ran to support significant causes by assisting additional beneficiaries, such as young cancer patients and the homeless.

Furthermore, for runners who record and share their experiences, connectivity is essential to enhancing the overall race experience. Doris Baguio Daño, also known as DB Runner, is an ultramarathoner and content creator who is looking forward to the event.

The event is organized by the Young Lawyers Association of Cebu, Inc. (YLAC) in partnership with Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart), which supports the marathon through its robust 4G and 5G network.

“We thank Smart for the continued partnership and support. With strong connectivity enhancing communication and safety, participants can fully enjoy this bigger and more exciting edition of our IBP Running Event.” ~Atty. Michael Francis Hubahib, Vice President External at YLAC and IBP: Cebu Tricity Marathon Head Organizer

Runners may communicate with loved ones, stay informed, and track and share their marathon milestones in real time with dependable connectivity. The entire race-day experience is improved by the lottery prizes and special Smart load bonuses that players can take advantage of during the event.

“We are proud to once again support this initiative that aligns with our commitment to fostering wellness and community. Smart is excited to be part of the participants’ marathon experience, delivering seamless 5G connectivity that helps keep them informed, engaged, and safe throughout their run.” ~Christian So, AVP and Head of National Key Accounts at Smart

The registration deadline is August 31, 2026. For more information and updates, interested parties can visit the official social media pages of the IBP: Cebu Tricity Marathon 2026.

Load Up, Level Up Smart supports sustainable livelihoods through digital e-loading

“At Smart, we believe that technology should uplift lives. By making load accessible through Hatchiko and TELESCOOP, we’re helping everyday earners build small but more sustainable side businesses, supported by our expanding 4G and 5G network.” ~Christian So, Smart Assistant Vice President and Head of Key Accounts Modern Trade

For many Filipinos, selling cellphones is more than just a side business—it's their lifeline. Mobile services provider Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) is making mobile load more accessible through the Hatchiko App, allowing members of the PLDT Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative (TELESCOOP) to earn extra money through a streamlined, digital e-loading experience.

The Hatchiko program makes e-loading procedures more efficient by allowing users to manage transactions, monitor earnings, and help clients—all from their mobile devices.   It's a practical way to grow your clients and earnings without needing a physical location.   Hatchiko offers a variety of services to its clients, including bulk transaction management, platform integration, and e-load processing solutions.

“Our goal is to reshape how load reselling works by offering a digital platform that simplifies the entire process. Through the Hatchiko app, we’re empowering individuals with tools that make loading more efficient, transparent, and scalable—so they can manage their transactions with ease and grow their businesses sustainably.” ~Bill Vergel Mendoza, President of Hatchiko

TELESCOOP, a long-standing cooperative that supports PLDT employees and affiliates, has embraced digital change in order to better serve its members.   With the advent of Smart Load, Hatchiko has added a new revenue stream to its growing portfolio of digital services.

“This gives our members a meaningful opportunity to grow their income. It’s a small shift with a big impact—especially for those looking to build something of their own.” ~Benedicto Portugal, Chairperson of TELESCOOP

Smart e-load has been one of the top-selling products for retailers and resellers around the country since its 2003 launch.   Smart e-load, the world's first mobile communication technology, made prepaid services possible and made it easier for Filipinos to communicate both domestically and abroad.

As Smart expands its nationwide network, this initiative exemplifies the company's commitment to inclusive growth, where technology is used as a tool for advancement rather than only for connectivity.
