More than 2,000 Filipinos participated in Home Credit PH's first fun run, Takbo #ParaSaLife, to promote wellness

“According to the World Health Organization (WHO), almost 38% of Filipinos are physically inactive, putting them at risk for lifestyle-related diseases. As the Filipinos’ trusted ally, not just in financial inclusion but in overall well-being, Home Credit is committed to encouraging communities to embrace a healthier lifestyle. Seeing people of all ages and backgrounds come together for this run is truly inspiring. At Home Credit, we believe that wellness is an essential part of living a fulfilling life. Takbo #ParaSaLife is more than just a race—it’s a movement that we hope will continue beyond today. We look forward to making this an annual tradition to encourage more people to prioritize their health." ~Petr Lukosz, HCPH Chief CRM Officer and 2x Ironman Philippines Champion
Over 2,000 runners participated in Takbo #ParaSaLife, Home Credit Philippines' first-ever fun run held at Parqal in Aseana City. Organized by WeKenRun, the event offered 1K, 3K, 5K, and 10K categories, promoting health and wellness among Filipinos and reinforcing Home Credit's commitment to supporting customers not just financially, but holistically.

Today, more than 2,000 runners participated in the first-ever fun run organized by Takbo #ParaSaLife, Home Credit Philippines (HCPH), marking a step toward a healthier lifestyle.  As the top consumer finance provider in the nation, Home Credit is dedicated to helping Filipinos in all aspects of their lives, including financially, by encouraging their mental and physical health.

Organized in partnership with WeKenRun, a running organization run by famous marathon coach Ken Mendola, the event was held at Parqal in Aseana City and offered 1K, 3K, 5K, and 10K categories, making it suitable for runners of all skill levels.

Lester Cruz, CEO of Singlife Philippines, was among the guests and celebrities who graced the event to support Home Credit's push for healthier lifestyles, in addition to the fun run participants and Home Credit executives and team members.  Boltech and SM staff members participated in the race, as did important event partners Xiaomi, Park Access, and Singlife.

Championing holistic wellness

Seen here are Jana Pechouckova, Chief Financial Officer; Pratim Bhattacharya, Head of Operations; Ihor Kruchynenko, Chief Risk Officer; Petr Lukosz, Chief CRM Officer; Teeraphong Mahatham, Deputy Chief Executive Officer; Philips Yu, Chief Digital Officer; and Sheila Paul, Chief Marketing Officer

A successful turnout and exciting rewards

A common dedication to health and wellness brought together Home Credit team members, novice runners, and seasoned running enthusiasts at the event.  In addition to finisher medals that will be shipped to them, event partners provided runners with running shirts, race bibs, and loot bags.  A ₱10,000 grand prize for the fastest runner in the 10K distance was among the thrilling cash prizes awarded to podium finishers in the 5K, 3K, and 10K races.

Home Credit and its partners also added exciting prizes, such as Park Access vouchers, Xiaomi smart home devices, and gift certificates for ON Running Shoes and Suunto, to make the event even more rewarding. Additionally, Singlife provided home insurance vouchers to podium finishers, which were ₱7,500, ₱5,000, and ₱2,500 for the male and female top finishers in the 10KM, 5KM, and 3KM sections, respectively.  These rewards are just one of the numerous ways Takbo #ParaSaLife keeps promoting holistic health and elevating each step.

“This was my first time joining a fun run, and I never imagined I could complete the 10K category—but I did! It was such an incredible experience. Thanks to Home Credit, I got to challenge myself and achieve something I never thought possible. This event has inspired me to stay active, set bigger fitness goals, and make running a part of my lifestyle. I hope to join again next year and push myself even further!” ~Joma Unabia, a first-time fun run participant and 10K finisher, shared his excitement about joining Takbo #ParaSaLife

Looking Ahead

Home Credit Philippines is already preparing for the upcoming Takbo #ParaSaLife, promising to make it even bigger, better, and more exciting.

Since almost 40% of Filipinos are still physically inactive, according to WHO data, programs like this are an important reminder that little changes add up to big ones.  Home Credit is dedicated to supporting holistic well-being in addition to financial empowerment, making sure that every Filipino can lead their healthiest, best life—one run at a time.

This event would not have been possible without the support of Home Credit’s valued partners—WeKenRun, Aseana City, Parqal, Sip (Hydration Partner) and Sip Plus (Electrolytes), Singlife, Surge Lifestyle, Suunto, Xiaomi Philippines, Park Access (Official Nike Store Partner), Skintech, Dole, Silka, Corbridge, Oishi—who share the same commitment to promoting health and well-being. Their support helped make Takbo #ParaSaLife a truly memorable and rewarding experience for all participants.

I RUN FOR INTEGRITY: I AM PART OF THE SOLUTION! - INTEGRITY STARTS IN AN "I".

"The man of integrity walks securely, but he who takes crooked paths will be found out." ~Proverbs 10:9
"I RUN for Integrity: I am Part of the Solution"

We are just ordinary people, but we can do extraordinary things. I can do empowering things for my integrity. Integrity is self-impose... It starts with "I". It takes more than one to build a nation of Integrity...
Henry Schumacher, Vice President of ECCP and the Integrity Initiative, Inc.

It was an evening of empowering integrity and standing for anti-corruption. Not anyone has the guts to do so especially if it has something to do with politics... However one of the best ways to do it is thru the "I RUN for Integrity: I am Part of the Solution,".  Being part of the fun run alone is already empowering your integrity for anti-corruption. Join us for the historic running event for integrity which will take off on December 12, 2015.

With the goal of making integrity everyone's concern and part of daily life, the Integrity Initiative - spearheaded by the Makati Business Club, the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP), the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (AMCHAM), the Management of the Philippines (MAO), and Financial Executives of the Philippines (Finex) is staging a historic run on December 12, 2015 at the CCP Complex, Pasay City.

Dubbed "I RUN for Integrity: I am Part of the Solution," the event calls on sectors of society to participate in this important step towards building a culture of integrity in the Philippines. It is expected to bring together 5,000 representatives and runners from the government, business, youth, civil society, academe, church, and media towards the common goal of being part of the solution in fighting corruption.

The event comes on the heels of the highly successful 2011 and 2012 editions of the run, which united a total of 12,000 runners. ECCP organizes this year's running event in support of the Integrity Initiative, a private sector-led campaign that aims to promote common ethical standards among all sectors.
With co-bloggers

Established in 2009 by the Makati Business Club and ECCP, the Integrity Initiative operates on the principle of inclusion and collective action and works on making the Philippines a leader in promoting an ethical business environment while eliminating negative practices. Since then, a good progress has been made to get the collective action against corruption and unethical business practices going. 2,000 company chief executives, 1,500 DPWH contractors, 42 high government officials, and 140 business organizations have already signified support to the Integrity Initiative and signed the Integrity Pledge.

Additionally, the Integrity Initiative has rolled-out a unified code of conduct in 2012, and the basic guidelines for ethical business behavior, introduced an online self-assessment tool to all signatories, which can be used to evaluate the areas for improvement in the integrity system within their organization; developed a validation process to validate the ratings from the self-assessment tool and will soon pilot a certification process for business.
"While the Integrity Initiative has already accomplished notable milestones, there's still a lot that needs to be done. One of which is to encourage more engagement from individuals, especially the youth, to act with and uphold the value of integrity. This is why the theme of this year's run is "I RUN for Integrity: I am part of the solution." The individual acts of integrity are sure to deliver remarkable collective result in the long run. Participating in the "I RUN for Integrity: I am Part of the Solution," event is a symbolic gesture of pledging to act with integrity, We expect this event to be another show of force by Filipinos from all walks of life who want to finish victorious over our fight with corruption. With this event, we seek to make integrity everyone's mission." ~Henry Schumacher, Vice President of ECCP and the Integrity Initiative, Inc.
Runners for the "I Run Integrity: I am Part of the Solution" can choose to participate in the 3K, 5K, 10K categories. The "I RUN for Integrity: I am Part of the Solution" event forms part of this year's Integrity Nation Now campaign of the Integrity Initiative to further solidify their goal of instilling integrity and combating corruption in the country.

In addition to the running event, the Integrity Initiative will also hold the 5th Integrity Summit on December 9, 2015 at Shangri-la Hotel in Makati City. The summit is expected to gather business leaders, anti-corruption and good governance experts, as well as key representatives from the government, church, youth, academe, and other agencies to continue to highlight the progress of the private sector in promoting ethical standards in business. The summit coincides with the celebration of the International Anti-Corruption Day.
