Empowering Future Leaders in Science: A Prestigious Opportunity to Pursue Advanced Studies in Japan

“We believe that a world-class postgraduate education in Japan empowers scholars personally and professionally. The scholarship is an advantageous pathway to career advancement and global mobility. It is our hope that with advanced knowledge and training, the scholars will also be able to contribute to developing solutions for helping people Eat Well, Live Well.” ~Mika Makino,  APC Director for Marketing, Sales & Public Relations

By offering financial aid to academically outstanding individuals who want to attend postgraduate courses in Japan, Ajinomoto Philippines Corporation (APC) reaffirms its commitment to advancing Filipinos' scientific proficiency.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2027 Ajinomoto Foundation Postgraduate Scholarship Grant, which provides deserving candidates with the opportunity to pursue master's-level studies in Food Science and Technology, Human Nutrition, Chemistry, or Engineering at partner institutions such as the University of Tokyo, Kyoto University, Nagoya University, Institute of Science Tokyo, Ochanomizu University, Waseda University, and Japan Nutrition University (formerly Kagawa Nutrition University).

Successful candidates who meet the program's requirements and credentials will have access to significant benefits and all-encompassing support that will enable them to excel in their postgraduate pursuits. These include a monthly stipend, full reimbursement for entrance, exam, and tuition costs, as well as full reimbursement for psychiatric, medical, and Japanese language training prior to travel to Japan. The scholar's flight from the Philippines to Japan will also be covered.

Japan's renowned educational system and high academic standards continue to attract a sizable number of overseas students. According to a 2024 survey by the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO), there are more than 336,708 international students studying in Japan, and 58,215 of them are enrolled in graduate programs. The JASSO 2022 Career Status Progress Survey indicates that a significant percentage of international graduates find work in Japan after completing their studies.

Fifteen (15) full scholarship grants to various colleges in Japan have already been given to worthy Filipino students since the Ajinomoto Foundation Postgraduate Scholarship Grant was introduced in the Philippines in 2010.

APC encourages applicants to seize the opportunity to level up their education and careers.
