In celebration of International Coastal Cleanup Day, SM City Baliwag collaborated with government agencies and NGOs to execute a cleanup campaign along the Angat River trench between Barangay Tibag and Barangay Poblacion in Baliwag City, Bulacan.
The City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) is organizing the exercise with the goal of increasing community awareness of the need of proper rubbish disposal and the role that the community plays in maintaining and safeguarding wetland areas.

In cooperation with volunteers from the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), SM City Baliwag, and NU Baliwag, the event yielded noteworthy results. Food wrappers, cigarette butts, take-out containers, fishing nets, diapers, beverage bottles, and plastic and metal bottle caps are among the most prevalent garbage items that are seen on water bodies. These groups collected these items. The rubbish collected at the recently concluded event will then be disposed of using the proper methods and facilities.

The Trash to Cash Recycling Market, the water recycling program at all SM Malls, and the solar rooftops in several malls that promote the use of clean energy are just a few of the initiatives that SM Supermalls offers as part of its ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship. The company also regularly takes part in cleanups throughout the year. The Green Film Festival offers free documentaries to high school students about climate change, biodiversity, and solid waste.
