Cebu Pacific's New Hand Carry Policy

Cebu Pacific (CEB) is updating its hand carry policy as part of its continuous efforts to improve the travel experience and make the boarding process more convenient for its passengers.

Beginning on September 15, 2026, passengers on Cebu Pacific (5J) flights will be permitted to bring up to 10 kg of total hand carry items, up from the previous 7 kg limit. On flights run by Cebgo (DG), the total allowance for hand carry will continue to be 7 kg.

The updated policy gives travelers more flexibility to bring what they need for their trip while maintaining clear limitations on the number and size of hand carry items. These actions will also help our crew manage baggage more efficiently, complete pre-departure procedures on time, and adhere to flight schedules.

Passengers may only bring up to two (2) pieces of hand carry items on board:
  • One (1) hand carry baggage (to be placed in the overhead bin)
  • One (1) personal item (to fit under the seat in front)

Passengers are reminded to ensure they can comfortably lift and stow their hand carry luggage in the overhead bin by themselves, or under the seat in front of them.

Hand carry items must follow the corresponding size limits:
  • Hand carry baggage: up to Height = 56 cm × Length = 36 cm × Width = 23 cm
  • Personal item: up to Height = 20 cm × Length = 35 cm x Width = 20 cm

In order to minimize flight delays and ensure a more seamless boarding experience, passengers are reminded to keep their hand-carry items within the allowed number of pieces and weight limits.

Any hand carry item that exceeds CEB's allowed limits must be checked in, subject to the applicable baggage fees.

It is recommended that travelers pre-purchase their checked baggage allowance via the Manage Booking portal or add additional baggage allowance using their MyCebuPacific accounts.

Passengers can check in online via the CEB website and mobile app if they have no checked baggage, which reduces airport wait times and allows them to go straight to their assigned boarding gates.

CEB currently flies to 35 domestic and 26 international destinations across Asia, Australia and the Middle East.

Cebu Pacific marks its 100th aircraft with its brand-new 12th Airbus A330neo

“Reaching 100 aircraft is more than a milestone — it reflects our unwavering commitment to make air travel accessible to more Filipinos. With a larger fleet, we’re able to operate more efficiently, enhance connectivity across the country and the region, and pass on the benefits of scale through even lower fares.”  ~Xander Lao, CEB President and Chief Commercial Officer

With the delivery of its newest aircraft, a brand-new A330neo, Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), the top airline in the Philippines, has achieved a historic milestone: it is now the first local carrier to run a fleet of 100 aircraft.

Additionally, the A330neo is the 12th aircraft of its type to be added to CEB's fleet, solidifying the airline's standing as the Asia-Pacific region's largest A330neo operator.

Arriving in Manila from Airbus' Toulouse, France factory, the 459-seater aircraft is the second of four A330neos that are anticipated to join CEB's fleet this year. The first one arrived on March 28.  In 2025, CEB anticipates the delivery of seven aircraft in total.

  • Yellow and blue seat accents represent premium and standard seats, respectively.

Cebu Pacific's advisory on Power Bank Usage and Carriage

Cebu Pacific (CEB) advises its customers that the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines mandates that power banks be used and carried on board properly.

Travelers are permitted to bring up to 100Wh power banks.  Passengers can ask the check-in desk for permission to use power banks that have a capacity between 100Wh and 160Wh.

It is strictly forbidden to use or charge power banks while flying for safety reasons.

Passengers are required to carry their power banks in their pockets or in the seat pocket in front of them.

It is not permitted to store power banks behind seats or in the overhead bin.

To avoid short circuits, any loose or spare lithium batteries, including power banks, need to be packed separately.  Lithium battery terminals should be taped or preserved in their original packing, and power banks should be kept in protective pouches, plastic bags, or zip-lock bags.

Our passengers' pleasure and safety continue to be our first priorities.  Please visit bit.ly/CEB-PowerbankFAQs for additional details.

Cebu Pacific Raises Aircraft Deliveries to 21 for 2023

“This aircraft delivery allows us to increase our operational resilience while continuing to provide safe, reliable, and affordable air travel to our passengers. Our ongoing re-fleeting with new-generation, fuel-efficient aircraft and our continued use of sustainable aviation fuel will also help our decarbonization efforts in making the aviation industry more sustainable.” ~Alex Reyes, CEB Chief Strategy Officer

Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), the leading airline in the Philippines, has raised the number of aircraft deliveries for 2023 to an all-time high of 21, up from the initial plan of 15. This decision comes as a strategic move to enhance the company's operational resilience, considering the increasing demand for air travel.

Recently, CEB received its ninth aircraft for 2023, an Airbus A321neo (New Engine Option), which was delivered from Airbus' Delivery Centre in Hamburg, Germany, to Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila. Notably, the flight was powered by blended sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), demonstrating the airline's commitment to sustainable practices.

Of the 21 expected aircraft deliveries this year, 17 are NEOs, while four are CEOs (Current Engine Option) on short-term lease. The airline aims to shift to a more fuel-efficient, all-NEO fleet by 2028.

Last June 30, CEB received a brand new A320neo aircraft from Airbus’ final assembly line in Tianjin, China, powered by SAF with a blend of 41%, marking a major milestone for CEB’s sustainable aviation initiatives.

SAF is a drop-in fuel with similar characteristics as conventional jet fuels. It does not require any adaptations to the aircraft or engines and does not have any negative impact on performance. The use of SAF results in up to 80% reduction in carbon emissions across the fuel’s lifecycle.

Cebu Pacific, Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Rehabilitate Mangroves in Cebu

“We believe that nature-based solutions such as this mangrove plantation project have a critical role to play in removing carbon from the atmosphere. This initiative allows us to achieve three objectives – mitigating the impacts of carbon emissions to the environment, improving disaster resilience of coastal communities, and providing livelihood support to the Dumanjug community.” ~Alex Reyes, Cebu Pacific’s Chief Sustainability Officer

Cebu Pacific (CEB), the Philippines’ leading airline, has partnered with the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. One to Tree program (RAFI OTT) to support the conservation and restoration of mangroves in Cebu.

CEB and RAFI have entered into a memorandum of agreement to collaboratively enhance a mangrove plantation in Barangay Tapon, Dumanjug, Cebu. The primary objective of this project is to plant 10,000 mangrove seedlings over approximately 10 hectares of mangrove area.

The initiative was kickstarted by volunteers from both CEB and RAFI, who recently planted seedlings in Bgy. Tapon, Dumanjug Cebu.

CEB and RAFI will closely cooperate with the Tapon Fisherfolks Association and provide comprehensive training in various aspects of mangrove plantation management. This training will cover areas such as mangrove plantation design, nursery management, mangrove seedling production, site preparation, plantation establishment, and plantation maintenance and monitoring.

Furthermore, the participating members of the fisherfolk association will receive income augmentation for their labor in activities like planting site preparation, establishment, plantation maintenance, and the purchase of seedlings.

“We are excited to launch this mangrove rehabilitation partnership with Cebu Pacific. Through our shared values towards biodiversity conservation, we will be able to enhance the mangrove forest in the municipality of Dumanjug and build a more sustainable and disaster-resilient community. It truly takes everyone’s help now to build a sustainable tomorrow.” ~Antony Dignadice, RAFI OTT Program Director

The partnership will run for three years.  It includes the identification, establishment, planting, maintenance, and monitoring of the mangrove plantation in the Municipality of Dumanjug. More than 20 community partners from the fisherfolk association will be involved in the project.

“There are about 40 CEB volunteers alongside our partners who participated in this CEB Mangrove Forest Enhancement and Rehabilitation Project. Most are Manila-based who spent for their own accommodation. This is a testament that the spirit of volunteerism on sustainability initiatives is very much alive among CEB employees. On top of this initiative, we have also transitioned to zero emission electric vehicles for employee shuttle service and are currently evaluating onsite solar power installation to supply renewable energy for our key buildings.” ~Felix Lopez, Cebu Pacific’s Chief Human Resources Officer

In a review of 335 studies conducted by scientists from the University of the Philippines, the Philippines suffered the second-worst loss of mangroves in Southeast Asia over a two-decade period. Philippine mangroves suffered a 10.5 percent decline between 1990 and 2010.

For many coastal communities, mangrove forests provide livelihoods and critical protection from the onslaught of typhoons. These dense coastline forests are home to diverse ecosystems, where fish swim and grow among trees and find needed shelter to reproduce.

CEB, which is the Philippine leader in propelling decarbonization in the aviation industry, has also begun other initiatives to minimize the environmental impacts of its operations.

By 2028, CEB intends to operate an all-NEO (New Engine Option) fleet that consumes less fuel and has reduced carbon emissions. CEB has also incorporated the use of blended sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in its operations and continues to strengthen its supply network for sourcing SAF.

The company has also transitioned to zero emission electric vehicles for employee shuttle service and is likewise currently evaluating onsite solar power installation to supply renewable energy for its key buildings.

RAFI One To Tree (formerly known as RAFI Biodiversity Conservation Unit), has been active in reforestation and conservation for over two decades and has achieved more than 80% survival rate for native tree growing. Peak Travel Reminders for the Lenten Break

Many Filipinos take advantage of Holy Week as a time to reflect and spend time with their families, either by participating in religious activities or taking a much-needed vacation.

Despite the fact that airports are expected to become more crowded during this time of year, air travel should not be a tumultuous experience for every Juan. Cebu Pacific has a few reminders for you:

1. Be on time at the airport and beat traffic

Cebu Pacific and Cebgo passengers must allot time for traffic going to the airport. Passengers must be at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 and 4 at least three (3) hours before departure for domestic flights, and four (4) hours for international flights. Passengers traveling to Dubai are allowed to check in as early as seven (7) hours before departure.

2. Check in online
Long lines may be avoided at the airport by checking in via the official CEB mobile app or via the Manage Booking section of the CEB website. Both options are available from seven (7) days up to one (1) hour before scheduled time of departure for domestic flights, and up to four (4) hours before scheduled departure for international fliers.

3. Check flight information, closing times
All check-in counters close one (1) hour before the scheduled time of departure to ensure there is ample time for all necessary pre-flight procedures. After checking in, we encourage passengers to immediately go through immigration and final security to avoid delays. Boarding commences 45 minutes before the scheduled departure.

Updated flight information may be viewed at https://www.cebupacificair.com/flight-status

4. Self-tag luggage for select domestic destinations
Guests flying out of select domestic destinations (Manila, Davao, Clark, Cagayan de Oro, General Santos, Bohol, Iloilo, and Zamboanga) are reminded to self-tag their check-in luggage at the designated kiosks at the airport, prior to proceeding to counters for bag drops.

5. Pack your bags accordingly
Passengers must bring only one carry-on bag for a more convenient flight experience. The carry-on bag must not exceed 7kg in weight and can fit in the overhead bins or under the seat.

CEB has exempted items that are allowed to be carried aside from the single hand carried bag:
  • Gadgets or food items that cannot be checked-in;
  • Items purchased inside the airport (requires proof of receipt);
  • Assistive or medical items such as walking canes, foldable walkers;
  • Baby food and necessities for passengers traveling with infants;
  • Or a small bag that can fit under the seat.

6. Checked baggage policy
Passengers are encouraged to purchase prepaid baggage online via the CEB website or mobile app to save on fees. CEB has implemented a per piece baggage policy which applies to all passengers with checked baggage. A passenger can bring one (1) piece for each purchase of 20kg or 32kg, and may get up to any two (2) of these weight options, for a maximum of two (2) pieces of baggage and a combined weight of 64kg.

Any excess in size, weight and pieces are subject to oversized baggage fee, excess baggage fee and/or extra Bag Fee.

7. Check the airport terminal assignment of your flight
Passengers must check their itineraries and boarding passes before proceeding to their designated airport terminal. In order to commemorate the reopening of Singapore's borders in April 2022, CEB and STB previously executed a memorandum of understanding (MOU). Due to the successes of the past year, both parties renewed the MOU today to intensify their collaboration to promote Singapore, one of the Philippines' most popular tourist destinations. Joint marketing and promotions, as well as joint business development in the fly-cruise, meetings, and incentive corporate groups sectors, will be key projects in this MOU for 2023.
