A Visual Journey Through Memory and Light: Richmonde Hotel Iloilo Unveils Babak Niaraki’s “Dumdumanon” Photography Exhibition

"Just as Babak’s photos effortlessly bridge the gap between Iloilo’s high-energy celebrations and its quiet, soulful rhythms, Richmonde strives to elevate every facet of a guest's stay—delivering memorable hospitality not only through grand gatherings, but also in serene retreats. So, we invite everyone to visit the hotel to reminisce and rediscover Iloilo anew through Babak’s lenses.” ~Lucille Pedroso, Richmonde’s Assistant Director of Sales

In line with the Iloilo Arts Festival this October and Iloilo Business Park’s recognition as the city’s Center of Arts and Culture, Richmonde Hotel Iloilo recently unveiled Dumdumanon: Seeing Iloilo—Moments of a City, Seen and Remembered. The solo photography exhibition features the captivating works of multimedia artist Babak Niaraki.

Dumdumanon: Seeing Iloilo—Moments of a City, Seen and Remembered photo exhibit runs until November 6, 2026 at the lobby of Richmonde Hotel Iloilo.

Taking its name from the Hiligaynon word meaning “to remember” or “to recollect,” Dumdumanon explores the collective memories and everyday experiences that shape Iloilo’s identity. As an Iranian artist who has made Iloilo City his home, Niaraki offers a distinctive perspective that bridges the experience of an outsider with the familiarity of someone who has become part of the community.

His photographs capture a wide range of local scenes, from the vibrant celebrations of the Dinagyang Festival to the understated beauty of ordinary life. Through vivid imagery, visitors can almost feel the rhythm of the sadsad, hear the bustling activity of Central Market, and experience the calm atmosphere of Iloilo’s coastal waters.

Beyond documenting the city’s landmarks and traditions, the exhibition celebrates the people, places, and shared experiences that form the cultural heart of Iloilo.

Art Meets Enriching Experiences

By hosting Dumdumanon, Richmonde Hotel Iloilo celebrates Babak Niaraki’s artistic talent while reaffirming its dedication to providing guests with meaningful experiences rooted in authentic local culture.
