Hotel Sogo brings its comfort food closer to home with foodpanda

“We are offering very good food, packed and served the way it should be for a five-star hotel. Order now via foodpanda, so you can see and taste what Hotel Sogo's good food is, even if you are not inside the hotel.” ~Ms. Sue Geminiano, Corporate Marketing Head, Hotel Sogo

For more than three decades, Hotel Sogo has been a familiar name for Filipinos looking for a clean and comfortable place to rest. For many guests, however, the experience has also included something else they have come to enjoy: a satisfying meal from Sogo Food.

Now, customers no longer have to check in to enjoy their Sogo favorites.

Through its partnership with foodpanda, Hotel Sogo is bringing Sogo Food beyond the hotel's doors, making its meals available to customers at home, at work, or wherever cravings happen to strike.

The idea came from the guests themselves. Through Hotel Sogo's Communication Center, the brand regularly received inquiries asking if Sogo Food could be ordered for delivery. What began as a simple request became an opportunity to make the brand's food more accessible to customers who may not have a reason—or the time—to book a stay.

HOTEL SOGO x FOODPANDA PARTNERSHIP LAUNCH. Hotel Sogo and foodpanda officially launch their partnership at Hotel Sogo Santolan on September 28, 2026. Whether it's a quick lunch break at the office or dinner shared with family at home, the partnership gives customers another way to enjoy Hotel Sogo's food without having to book a room.

Among the dishes highlighted by Hotel Sogo Corporate Marketing Head Ms. Sue Geminiano are familiar Filipino favorites such as pancit, crispy pata, half-fried chicken, the clubhouse sandwich, and pakbet.

These well-loved choices bring Sogo Food's take on comforting, satisfying meals closer to customers—whether they're ordering for themselves or sharing with the people around them.

With foodpanda, the Sogo Food experience is no longer limited to hotel guests. Sometimes, all it takes is a few taps to bring a familiar favorite to the table.

Geminiano emphasized that dining is an important part of the overall Hotel Sogo experience, with Sogo Food offering guests more than just a convenient meal during their stay. Through its partnership with foodpanda, the brand is now extending that dining experience to customers beyond its hotels, allowing more people to enjoy familiar Sogo favorites wherever they are.

Ms. Sue Geminiano, Corporate Marketing Head, Hotel Sogo

Through the partnership with foodpanda, Geminiano encouraged customers to discover Sogo Food beyond the hotel’s doors and enjoy its familiar favorites wherever they are.

To order, customers can simply search for “Sogo Food” on the foodpanda app, then check the participating outlets and available menu selections based on their delivery location.

The partnership currently covers six Hotel Sogo branches, with the brand aiming to expand Sogo Food delivery to all 52 branches nationwide before the end of 2026. The goal is to make the service accessible to even more customers across the country, bringing Sogo Food closer to people who have grown familiar with its menu over the years.

The launch at Hotel Sogo Santolan marked the beginning of this next chapter. The celebration brought together representatives from both brands, guests, and partners for an afternoon filled with food, activities, and shared moments. As the partnership expands, Sogo Food is set to become even more accessible—giving customers another reason to enjoy their Sogo favorites, wherever they may be.

Hotel Sogo staff welcome guests to the Fresh Picks Market Corner, featuring fresh produce and grocery items, during the Hotel Sogo × foodpanda Partnership Launch at Hotel Sogo Santolan on September 28, 2026.

For attending media, the launch offered a story rooted in a familiar customer need: a hotel brand making its food available beyond its rooms. Experiencing the dishes and activities firsthand gave guests a closer look at what customers can expect from the new delivery service, while presentations from both Hotel Sogo and foodpanda provided context on how customer feedback helped bring the partnership to life.

The afternoon also brought plenty of interactive moments. The Sogo Speed Order Challenge tested participants' ordering skills, while the Sogo Sarap Social Passport encouraged guests to explore partner booths and complete social media activities.

Participants could also collect rewards along the way, including fresh produce and grocery items, adding a fun neighborhood-market feel to the launch and reinforcing the everyday, accessible character of Sogo Food.

“It's such a convenience that the partnership with foodpanda allows the Sogo Food experience to be shared outside the hotel.” ~Chef Tatung

Adding to the launch was Chef Tatung Sarthou, who shared his thoughts on making Hotel Sogo's food accessible to a wider audience. His presence highlighted the growing opportunity for familiar Filipino flavors to reach customers beyond the traditional hotel setting.

His remarks underscored one of the most practical benefits of the partnership: customers can enjoy Sogo Food without having to book a hotel stay. Through the app, familiar Sogo meals can now become part of an ordinary lunch at work, a quick dinner at home, or a shared meal with family and friends.

For foodpanda, the collaboration creates another opportunity to connect customers with food offerings available within their communities. By bringing together Hotel Sogo's response to customer demand and foodpanda's delivery platform, the partnership makes it easier for people to access the meals they want, when and where they want them.

At its core, the collaboration is about convenience—but also about listening to customers and finding new ways to make their everyday dining experience more satisfying.

“We're looking forward to a very long, fruitful and successful partnership, and to delivering happiness to the Filipino public.” ~Mr. Andrew Hornshaw, Sales Manager of foodpanda

Meanwhile, Mr. Andreu Sevillo, Regional Manager of foodpanda, emphasized the convenience that delivery brings to customers, while also recognizing the important role of riders who help bring meals from restaurants and establishments to people's doorsteps.

The celebration was also attended by Ms. Mariel Quinto, Advertising and Promotions Manager of Hotel Sogo. Hosting the event was the Hotel Sogo Santolan team, led by Hotel Manager Mr. Melchor Borata and Sector Head Mr. Jose Rommel Guda.

Adding to the afternoon's activities, Anghel Kape by Figaro Culinary Group, Inc., Mogu Mogu, and Mister Pullman supported the celebration with giveaways for guests. REJ Diamond Pharmaceutical Inc. also joined the celebration with its brands Biofitea, Kankunis, Coffeetrim, Honeymoon Tea, and Lee MF Rhino Herbal Tea.

For Hotel Sogo, the partnership represents more than a new delivery option. It extends a familiar part of the guest experience to a much wider audience. Longtime customers can revisit dishes they already know and enjoy, while those who have never stayed at a Hotel Sogo property now have an opportunity to discover Sogo Food for themselves.

From the hotel room to the dining table at home, Sogo Food is finding a new way to be part of everyday Filipino moments.

Hotel Sogo and foodpanda bring Sogo Food your way. Hotel Sogo Corporate Marketing Head Ms. Sue Geminiano joins foodpanda Sales Manager Mr. Andrew Hornshaw and Regional Manager Mr. Andreu Sevillo at the partnership launch on September 28, 2026, at Hotel Sogo Santolan, celebrating a new way to enjoy Sogo Food beyond the hotel’s doors.

The next Sogo Food experience may begin at an office desk, during a quick break between tasks, or around the family dinner table—with a familiar meal ordered through foodpanda.

What started as a response to customer requests is now giving more Filipinos another way to enjoy Sogo Food, proving that sometimes, a taste of a familiar place is only a few taps away.

Hotel Sogo's 11 Anti-Covid Innovations

1. UVC Disinfection of Rooms, Utensils, Key Cards & Cash
  • Sogo was the first hotel, as early as March 2020, to use UVC (254nm) to fight Covid-19. Taking the cue from hospitals abroad, remote-controlled carts have been deployed for room disinfection. Compartments for utensils, key cards and cash were also fitted with UVC LEDs but kept away from personnel since 254 nm UVCs, while great for killing viruses may harm the skin and eyes.

FAR UVC Disinfection at Elevator Lobbies

2. FAR UVC Disinfection at Elevator Lobbies
  • After extensive research, Sogo has acquired and tested the FAR UVC 222 nm lamps that effectively kill viruses while being harmless to humans. Just recently (2020 Q4) produced commercially, it is quite expensive and is sold by only a few manufacturers abroad. Sogo is the first hotel to install these revolutionary excimer lamps in all its elevator lobbies.

UVC Disinfection for Room Aircons

3. UVC Disinfection for Room Aircons
  • All room aircons are to be fitted with specially manufactured UVC LEDs. Through germicidal irradiation, the UVC light attacks the DNA/DNR of micro-organisms, killing bacteria and viruses, and preventing their spread. As it is turned on with the aircon, room air is always sterilized each time it passes through the unit, ensuring the best possible room air quality for our guests.

Ventilation ACR is Doubled in Lobbies & Hallways

4. Ventilation ACR is Doubled in Lobbies & Hallways
  • The ACR (Air Change Rate) or the number of times the air is replaced for all general spaces is set at ≥ 4 per hour by ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating & Air-Conditioning Engineers). Sogo is doubling its current ACRs for intensified inflow of covid-free fresh air to accelerate indoor air replacement.

Covid Sniffer Dogs for Screening of Employees

5. Covid Sniffer Dogs for Screening of Employees
  • Dubai and Helsinki Airports have deployed Covid sniffer dogs to screen passengers and report a > 94% accuracy rate with dogs detecting the virus days before symptoms even start. Sogo has tied up with a leading K9 company, to have specially-trained Belgian Malinois dogs regularly screen its personnel for Covid.

Microbial ATP Fluorescence Testing of Surfaces

6. Microbial ATP Fluorescence Testing of Surfaces
  • ATP (Adenosine TriPhosphate) Testing measures ATP content to indicate the presence and amount of microorganisms. Each branch has an Anti-Covid Team that regularly swabs high touch point surfaces that pass through ATP Fluorescence Detectors to verify microbial presence and effectivity of the new protocols.

Anti-Microbial Coatings on Furnishings, Fixtures & Touch Points

7. Anti-Microbial Coatings on Furnishings, Fixtures & Touch Points
  • Widely used in hospitals and mass transports in China, Hong Kong and Japan, these Polymer coatings are formed after spraying millions of nano-capsules with contact killing and anti-adhesion features that lasts for weeks. It effectively kills bacteria and viruses, including H1N1 and Covid. Sogo applies this over all furnishings and touch points.

Reduced Touch Points with No-Contact Fixtures (with photos of no-contact fixtures)

8. Reduced Touch Points with No-Contact Fixtures (with photos of no-contact fixtures)
  • A Sogo study shows that pre-pandemic, guests had a minimum of 59 Touch Points (TPs) during a typical hotel stay. Due to new protocols that include contact-less fixtures, TPs have been reduced by 40.7% with the goal to achieve a reduction of 66.1% with more advanced technology centered on cellphone use.

Multi-Stage Air Purifying Equipment in Lobbies

9. Multi-Stage Air Purifying Equipment in Lobbies
  • To further sanitize indoor air, Sogo installed air-purifying equipment having several levels of filters: Pre-filter, Activated Carbon, HEPA (H11), with built-in Cold Catalysts, Ion Generators and UVC lights that eliminate allergens and pollutants such as dust, pollen, odor, bacteria, viruses, and even reduces carbon dioxide levels.

No-Contact Key

10. No-Contact Key
  • Specially designed key (keychain) to avoid touching. This is one of our giveaways included in some of our promos.

11. Thermal Scan Controlled Doors
  • For most branches, guests on their own, can get scanned before entry and if within the safe temperature limit, main doors will open automatically without need of any contact.
