Cetaphil National Healthy Skin Mission 2026!

“We are committed to helping more Filipinos achieve healthy skin by changing how they choose clinically proven skin care. As a sensitive skin expert and category leader, Cetaphil brings skin science and dermatological expertise through products that consistently work to add more value to consumers’ health and wellness journey.” ~Mark Sarmiento, Business Unit Head for Cetaphil

Had the pleasure of attending the Cetaphil National Healthy Skin Mission 2026, a meaningful event that champions the belief that everyone deserves healthy, cared-for skin. From skincare education to the importance of building a healthy skin routine, Cetaphil continues to remind us that taking care of our skin is not just a beauty goal—it’s part of taking care of ourselves.

Due to rising costs, Filipinos are choosing skincare products that they can trust to preserve the long-term health of their skin and are also becoming more frugal with their spending. Skincare is becoming less of a cosmetic luxury and more of a requirement for personal wellbeing.

However, when navigating both online and physical retail aisles, consumers come across contradictory claims, complex scientific jargon, and a constant stream of new ingredients.

The eighth annual National Healthy Skin Mission at SM Makati was organized by skincare brand Cetaphil in partnership with top retailer Watsons and SM Beauty. This year's theme, "Healthy Skin Deserves No Compromise," served as the main focus. Through the program, consumers can directly purchase products that have undergone clinical testing and are made to address specific skin needs.

“We see firsthand how the skincare landscape is evolving. Today’s shoppers aren't looking for quick fixes or trend-driven routines anymore. As the country's leading destination for health and wellness, we are proud to be the trusted bridge that connects shoppers directly to clinically proven, dermatologist-recommended solutions like Cetaphil.” ~Pat Muyco, Group Senior Category Manager for Watsons

The event was made even more inspiring with insights from skincare and industry experts, sharing valuable reminders about understanding our skin, proper skincare, and why sensitive skin deserves the right kind of care. We also got to hear from Anne Curtis, who shared her own skincare journey and experience with Cetaphil.

Don’t compromise your skin health with quick fixes

For Cetaphil Brand Ambassador Anne Curtis, making thoughtful skincare choices has become essential as her skin handles the demands of a busy lifestyle, such as long days on set, frequent makeup application, and changing surroundings.

“There’s so much going on online, so it’s important to know that the brand you’re using is something you can trust because it is certified by experts. Don’t compromise your skin health with quick fixes or following trends. You deserve to take care of your own skin, but it’s also important to educate yourself about what’s available.” ~Anne Curtis, Cetaphil Brand Ambassador

Dr. Chesca Quinio-Calayag also adds that having healthy skin isn't about doing the longest routine or chasing every new ingredient that comes out.

“It’s more about choosing products that are proven to work, gentle enough to protect your skin barrier, and effective enough that you don't have to keep replacing products that disappoint you.” ~Dr. Chesca Quinio-Calayag

Meanwhile, Dr. Sella Umali-Adasa reminded consumers to stop consuming products that leave adverse reactions.

“Healthy skin shouldn't come at the expense of irritation. If your skincare constantly leaves your skin feeling tight, stinging, or uncomfortable, that's not something you should simply accept as normal.” ~Dr. Sella Umali-Adasa

The mission also emphasizes the importance of understanding that healthy skin is not always perfect. According to Abe Mationg, Head of Marketing for Cetaphil, consumers should feel empowered to make choices based on their skin’s needs.

“It’s mainly about making informed choices and listening to experts. All of us are different, so our skin isn’t perfect all the time. Sometimes you wake up feeling differently about your skin. But what’s important is to be gentle with yourself and have the right skincare for your skin type.” ~Abe Mationg, Head of Marketing for Cetaphil

Open to the public until August 31, the National Healthy Skin Mission at SM Makati offers dermatologist consultations, interactive installations, and advice on skincare using a science-led approach.

Learn more about dermatologist-certified care by following Cetaphil PH on Instagram and Facebook. Cetaphil products are available nationwide at Watsons and SM Beauty stores, or online via Watsons Online.

Here’s to making healthy skin a priority, every day! Healthy Skin Deserves No Compromise.

Healthy Smiles and Changing Lives: LISTERINE® Supports Comprehensive Cleft Care in Collaboration with Watsons and Operation Smile Philippines

"With Watsons’ strong presence across the country, we're proud to help LISTERINE® bring this movement to life and expand its reach to communities nationwide.” ~Lexie Coloma, Senior Manager for Corporate PR and Sustainability, Watsons Philippines
Speakers for LISTERINE® and Operation Smile Philippines’ “Healthy Smiles Start with LISTERINE ® “ campaign launch event held at Watson’s SM Mall of Asia Mall 7. (L-R: Lexie Coloma, Senior Manager for Corporate PR & Sustainability, Watsons Philippines; Kate Bulan, Shopper Marketing, LISTERINE ® Philippines; Ramon Solas, Coordinator, Operation Smile Philippines and Manila Cleft Center; MacoyDubs, LISTERINE ® Brand Ambassador; Maxine Ibay, Speech Language Pathologist, Operation Smile Philippines; Rachelle Alcovindas, Nutritionist & Senior Officer of Comprehensive Cleft Care, Operation Smile Philippines)

In Asia Pacific, a child with a cleft condition that affects their ability to eat, speak, and smile is born every three minutes. A backlog of 200,000 children with cleft lip and palate still exists in the Philippines. LISTERINE® teamed with Operation Smile and Watsons to offer full cleft care, including surgery, speech therapy, nutrition programs, hygiene kit distributions, and education for kids and their families, because they believe every child deserves a healthy smile.

By introducing the "Healthy Smiles Start with LISTERINE®" campaign throughout Asia Pacific, LISTERINE® fortifies its collaboration with Watsons and Operation Smile this year. Raising awareness of cleft lip and palate, collecting funds for complete cleft care, and promoting oral health education and nutrition—particularly for children—are the objectives of the program.

LISTERINE®’s Booth in Watsons where shoppers can submit their pledge to help with cleft care awareness and merchandising stickers to show the P10 donation to Operation Smile for purchase of LISTERINE® bottles.

Filipinos now find it simpler to make a significant difference with their daily actions thanks to LISTERINE® and Watsons. Every LISTERINE® product purchased at Watsons between April 17 and December 31, 2025 (up to the first 50,000 bottles)* helps to fund speech therapy sessions for kids with cleft lip and palate in collaboration with Operation Smile Philippines, turning everyday dental care into a charitable endeavor. In an effort to raise awareness and encourage others to give, volunteer, or refer cleft patients, LISTERINE® asked Watsons customers to pledge their support in April.

In numerous oral health presentations, LISTERINE®, a part of Kenvue, is committed to encouraging comprehensive oral care through brushing, flossing, and mouthwash use.

"At LISTERINE®, we believe a healthy mouth is more than hygiene — it’s a gateway to confidence, dignity, and opportunity. Through the Healthy Smiles campaign and our partnership with Operation Smile Philippines, we aim to deliver healthier smiles and brighter futures for children with cleft lip and palate. This initiative invites everyone to join a movement that transforms lives, one smile at a time." ~Kate Bulan, Shopper Marketing, LISTERINE® Philippines

Ramon Solas, an Operation Smile Philippines beneficiary turned employee, sharing his personal life-changing experience and how this fuelled him to pay it forward.

Ramon Solas is a living example of how one act of kindness can transform a person's life and cause a significant chain reaction.  Ramon, who was born with a cleft problem, had to deal with bullying and low self-esteem. Following Operation Smile, which involved life-altering surgery, he felt more confident and even rose to the position of student council officer. He has now fully returned to his previous role as a committed coordinator for Operation Smile Philippines. In addition to giving back, Ramon is sharing the same hope, healing, and second opportunity that changed his own life with each child he assists.

Thousands of children’s lives changed from transformative cleft care from Operation Smile including that of Chutima’s (Paeng), Wang Nianyi’s, Supanat’s (Folksong), and Worapruch’s (Lak).

In addition to Ramon, Operation Smile has changed the lives of hundreds of children around Asia, such as Chutima (Paeng), Worapruch (Lak), Supanat (Folksong), and Wang Nianyi. Accessible cleft care has given these kids and their families healthier smiles, as well as more promising futures full of chances, hope, and confidence. This includes everything from early surgeries and orthodontic treatment to continuing speech therapy and dental care. Their testimonies demonstrate the transformational potential of all-encompassing cleft care.

"Children with cleft conditions face challenges like difficulty eating, speaking, and social stigma. Our partnership with LISTERINE® and Watsons enables us to reach more children and create lasting change for families and communities." ~Rachelle Alovindas, Nutritionist & Senior Officer of Comprehensive Cleft Care at Operation Smile Philippines

Every purchase becomes more than just a step toward improving one's oral health thanks to the work of LISTERINE®, Operation Smile, and Watsons; it becomes a part of a kid in need's life-changing journey. Every grin that is restored symbolizes a community that has been transformed, newfound confidence, and hope that has been realized. Together, they are transforming mundane activities into remarkable deeds of compassion.  Make someone smile today and for the rest of their lives.

Watsons Joins Forces with Customers to Offset 4,000 Tons of CO2 to Fight Against Climate Change

“I love how Watsons makes recycling so easy and rewarding. Dropping off my empty bottles during my regular shopping trips has become a habit. It's great to know that my small actions contribute to a cleaner environment, and the shopping vouchers are a nice bonus!” ~Laine Molina, a customer from the Philippines

To strengthen its carbon compensation program, AS Watson's main health and beauty brand, Watsons, announced an extended cooperation with ClimatePartner on Earth Day. Our goal is to offset more than 4,000 tons of CO2 emissions with each purchase of specific Watsons Sustainable Choice products.

Inspiring Customers to Choose Wisely, Live Sustainably

In 2023, Watsons and ClimatePartner started their carbon compensation program, which initially featured seven product categories, in response to the increased consumer demand for Sustainable Choices products.  Our unshakable commitment to sustainability is being further advanced by this endeavor, which is now growing to embrace 30 product types.  Watsons O+O (online and offline) stores in Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, Turkey, and the GCC regions are the first to begin the program.

Watsons is dedicated to providing more environmentally friendly items and making sure that each purchase has a significant and positive influence.  Watsons is concentrating on important afforestation in Dingxi, Mainland China, an area impacted by desertification, droughts, and severe soil erosion, in addition to current reforestation work in Rimba Raya, Indonesia.  This effort involves planting native tree species, selected for their resistance in semi-arid conditions, with the goal of restoring degraded cropland into healthy forests.

In addition to its positive effects on the environment, the project empowers local communities and promotes gender equity by giving locals job opportunities in tree planting and forest care, many of which are held by women.

Since its launch, the initiative has been well-received by customers and has garnered positive feedback.

“Choosing Watsons’ Sustainable Choices products just makes sense. It’s an easy way to be more mindful of what I buy without sacrificing quality. I like knowing that even small changes in my routine can make a difference, and it feels good to support brands that care about the environment too.” ~Nicole Espinase from the Philippines

Through its Go Green Living initiatives, which actively involve staff in practical environmental action, Watsons in the Philippines not only empowers customers but also helps the global sustainability movement.  In order to avoid marine pollution and preserve biodiversity, Watsons Philippines has planted more than 5,800 trees during eco-tours and gathered more than 30 bags of rubbish and scrap wood during international coastal cleanups.  These regional initiatives show how Watsons additionally supports climate change through employee-led, community-driven initiatives that mirror the company's larger environmental commitment.

One of the most important ways to fight climate change and protect the biodiversity that supports us all is to encourage consumers to purchase Sustainable Choices goods. By working together, we can shape a more promising and environmentally friendly future for future generations. This Earth Day represents yet another important turning point in Watsons' efforts to combat climate change by enabling its customers to Look Good. Do Good. Feel Great.

Watsons and Punlaan School's apprenticeship program for pharmacy assistants graduates its first batch of scholars

“As the number of Watsons stores grow all over the country, the more that we are in need of pharmacy assistants to better serve our customers. The Watsons and Punlaan school pharmacy assistant apprenticeship program is not only a pioneer in the health, beauty & wellness industry, but it has also served as an instrument to prepare scholars through effective mentorship. This has transformed the scholars to become effective pharmacy assistants, helping jumpstart the careers of scholars towards a meaningful career path.” ~Danilo Chiong, Managing Director of Watsons Philippines during his keynote speech
Newly graduated scholars of the Watsons Punlaan School Apprenticeship Program’s pioneer batch with executives from Watsons Philippines, Punlaan School directors and Beiersdorf representatives

Leading health and beauty retailer Watsons, in collaboration with Punlaan School, held the first commencement exercises for the apprenticeship program's inaugural batch of 20 scholars who successfully completed a six-month pharmacy assistant apprenticeship program.

The apprenticeship program began in the hopes that Watsons would fulfill their commitment to providing job opportunities for young people and closing the employment gap for pharmacy assistants. To fill the void, Watsons formed a partnership with Punlaan School with the goal of providing underprivileged young women with adequate training to become pharmacy assistants, thereby providing them with a stable career.

The Watsons-Punlaan School apprenticeship program lasts six months, with three months of in-school learning and three months of practical experience in Watsons stores.   Apprentices are compensated for the duration of their training, and those who successfully complete the program are hired by Watsons. Beiersdorf Philippines also makes a donation to support the program.

Watsons has set a target of 400 scholars distributed across various partner schools. By November, the partnership hopes to have 434 scholars who have completed the apprenticeship program.

Mr. Danilo S. Chiong, Watsons Philippines Managing Director

Josie C. Arriola, Director for People Innovations Projects - Watsons Philippines

“With this pioneer batch of the Watsons and Punlaan school apprenticeship program being a success, we plan to conduct even more programs and expand our partnerships with different organizations inside and outside of Metro Manila. Through this constant effort, we hope to reach more scholars and bring them opportunities towards a better future.” ~Josie C. Arriola, Director for People Innovations Projects - Watsons Philippines

Batch top 1 student Princess Bernadette A. Consinsino during her valedictory speech

“The main highlight of the entire program for me was the bond I have created with my classmates. From the time we started, even when we were all just starting to know one another, it felt like everyone treated each other like a family. My batchmates and I are grateful to be part of this first batch of graduates and to Watsons and Punlaan School for providing us a path to apply our learnings and work towards a great future.” ~Princess Bernadette A. Consinsino, The batch’s top 1 Student

Consinsino encouraged more women to take the chance and to not be afraid of grabbing new opportunities.

“It is an honor and privilege for Beiersdorf to have contributed to this wonderful cause of allowing young women the right resources and path to thrive. As our graduates move forwards, I encourage all of you to always dream big, be comfortable with the uncomfortable, break barriers to create and inclusive society and lastly, to pay it forwards–as the pioneer graduates of the Watsons and Punlaan School apprenticeship program, you pave the way as inspirations for the ones yet to come.” ~Nimisha Jain, Country Manager - Beiersdorf Philippines

This program and other efforts geared towards sustainability and the community are some ways in which Watsons, with the help of its customers, continues to uphold its promise to help people look good, do good and feel great.

Watsons volunteer moms bring their compassionate hearts and healing hands into communities through their dedicated volunteer work.

“We have been seeing a rise in employee participation in support of  Alagang Pangkalusugan in each area as more and more patients benefit from this initiative. We’re very happy that our employees are taking part in this.” ~Sharon Decapia, Watsons Senior AVP for Marketing, PR & Sustainability
Watsons employees and mom volunteers gather at the Alagang Pangkalusugan Medical Mission in Camarines Sur

It takes a village to organize a Watsons Alagang Pangkalusugan medical mission. There are volunteer doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals. Watsons also invites its suppliers to donate medicines and medical supplies while also witnessing community work. Then there are Watsons employee volunteers who give back on their days off rather than resting and spending time with their families.

A number of the Watsons volunteers are mothers. Many good volunteers have patience and leadership skills, and if there is one person who possesses all of these qualities, it is a mother.

Volunteerism is a commitment for the Watsons mothers who participate in Alagang Pangkalusugan medical missions. Since 2013, Alagang Pangkalusugan has helped more than 6,500 Filipinos. Watsons is proud to support Filipino families on their path to good health.

Editha "Meg" Aguila has been with Watsons for eight years. She began volunteering with a medical mission last year.

“It is my 2nd year this year in Watsons with MNDC Metro Naga Development Council but in my store, we already conducted simple community services to the elderly way back in 2017.  We would share our time and help provide the elderly with essential needs and also gave them food from our Christmas caroling fund. I am a mother too, I felt the same pain and anxiety of the mother's patient. I will lead them to the attending doctor and if ever they need my advice on how to interpret the prescription, I will help them so they may be guided correctly. I am sad that because of poverty,  they cannot have regular check-ups for their kids. Their kids are malnourished. I always tell them to take care of their children and give them proper care. I also remind them about giving the kids healthy food and vitamins.” ~Editha “Meg” Aguila, a Watsons store manager and mother of three

One of Aguila's favorite volunteer experiences was visiting her hometown of Libmanan with the medical mission. But working with children makes it even more meaningful and special for Aguila.

Eden Valenzuela, a pharmacy manager at Watsons with more than 13 years of experience, likewise views working with children as a privilege.

Joan Pacio, a pharmacy manager with twenty-one years of Watsons experience, explained that her motivation for volunteering stems from her sense of civic duty and her belief in the common good.

“Helping other people is a life fulfilling duty. It is also fulfilling to help meet the health needs of the less privileged especially in far-flung barangays.” ~Joan Pacio, a pharmacy manager who has been with Watsons for 21 years

For Meg Aguila, her motivation is to help others and make an impact on the lives of the beneficiaries.

Eden Valenzuela said she is happy to see the happy faces of people when they have free check-ups and medication.

Watsons' social purpose tagline "Look Good Do Good Feel Great" has guided the company in inspiring its employees and customers to achieve their sustainability goals. This social purpose is built into the company's DNA. The Watsons' culture is deeply ingrained with a spirit of doing good. In 1841, A.S. Alexander Skirving Watson, the founder of Watsons, provided free medicine to the needy in the first dispensary.

You can help support Watsons medical missions by visiting any Watsons store near you or shop online via Watsons App.

Watsons Fights Against Ocean Plastic Waste Through Naturals by Watsons’ Blue Beauty Range

In honor of Earth Day, Watsons, AS Watson Group's flagship health and beauty brand, is pleased to launch Naturals by Watsons' Special Edition Blue Beauty range in Hong Kong, Thailand, and Taiwan, with plans to expand to Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines soon.

Every year, 14 million tons of plastic enter the ocean, equivalent to the weight of over 140,000 blue whales. By 2050, the weight of plastics in the ocean is expected to exceed that of fish, with ocean-bound plastic being a major contributor. Ocean-bound plastic is defined as abandoned plastic waste located within 50 kilometers of shores where waste management is either nonexistent or inefficient. These impacts affect at least 700 marine.

Naturals by Watsons' Special Edition Blue Beauty collection includes shower gel, body lotion, shampoo, and conditioner. Each product contains over 94% natural ingredients, and every bottle is made from 100% recycled ocean-bound plastic. Customers who choose the new range can actively contribute to the fight against plastic waste in our oceans while also enjoying high-quality, sustainable personal care products. This range is part of Watsons' efforts to support the AS Watson Group's commitment to reducing the overall impact of plastics used in its exclusive brand packaging.

Naturals by Watsons' Special Edition Blue Beauty is set to debut in Watsons stores across the Philippines in mid-May, offering a clean beauty line free of 20 unwanted ingredients. Each product contains a formulation enriched with certified organic Algae sourced from Portugal, which delivers powerful results through natural ingredients that provide deep hydration.

Customers who choose the Naturals by Watsons Special Edition Blue Beauty range are actively contributing to the fight against plastic waste in our oceans while also indulging in high-quality and sustainable personal care products.

In line with this, the group has also launched the “Sustainable Choices” campaign with the aim of promoting sustainable business practices through the brands being sold in all of its stores, in turn, ensuring that the planet will “Look Good and Feel Great for future generations.”

A highlight of the campaign is providing customers with a wide selection of Clean Beauty products, better ingredients, and better packaging. In addition, the campaign will also encourage refills and recycling of products in an eco-friendly way.

“We are delighted to partner with Watsons, as they celebrate 180 years of service to the public, made more special through our Trash to Cash recycling program. This will be a good opportunity for our community, especially Watsons shoppers, to care for the environment in a fun way!” ~Engr. Liza B. Silerio, Vice President for Corporate Compliance and SM Cares Program Director for Environment and Sustainability
