SM Malls in Marilao, Baliwag, Pulilan Boost Public Schools’ Readiness for SY 2025–2026

SM City Baliwag volunteers brighten up school hallways with fresh paint, helping transform the campus into an inspiring space as students gear up for the new academic year.

In an effort to support education, SM Supermalls has gone beyond retail in the days leading up to the June 16 start of classes.

Under the theme "Sama-Sama Para Sa Bayang Bumabasa," mall staff, partners, and community volunteers collaborated to assist renovate and rejuvenate learning facilities in Bulacan in support of the Department of Education's Brigada Eskwela 2025.

The crews persevered in repainting classrooms, fixing school infrastructure, and supplying necessary school and cleaning materials in spite of the continuous rain, revitalizing campuses that have long been in need of renovation.

To support continuing beautification and greening programs, volunteers from SM City Marilao cleaned corridors, repainted walls, and gave school supplies like gardening tools and cleaning supplies to Ibayo Elementary School in Marilao.

With shovels in hand and smiles on their faces, SM Center Pulilan volunteers plant over a hundred tree seedlings during Brigada Eskwela, merging environmental stewardship with school readiness.

In the meantime, Tiaong Elementary School was the focus of SM Center Pulilan and SM City Baliwag. Volunteers from SM Baliwag addressed small electrical problems, restored balcony grills, mended jalousie windows, and painted school interiors to make them more luminous.  In contrast, the team from SM Pulilan enhanced the school grounds' form and function by planting more than a hundred saplings to complement its repair efforts.

In addition to the paintbrushes and tools, SM was dedicated to providing essential supplies including electric fans, construction materials, and disinfectants, all of which were meant to help schools create a secure and comfortable learning environment.

Going beyond the usual office work, an SM City Baliwag employee mixes cement for balcony grills as part of ongoing school rehabilitation efforts under Brigada Eskwela.

The Human Resources Department of SM Supermalls, in collaboration with SM Cares, the company's corporate social responsibility division, led the yearly Brigada Eskwela participation.  The project is more than just a volunteer endeavor; it is a reflection of SM's ongoing commitment to public education and its conviction that creating a better learning environment is a collective community endeavor.
