Through this endeavor, we aim to impart Olympic values to our Filipinos. We hope our partnership with Araullo High School becomes a hub for more vibrant, engaging activities, inspiring people to connect and celebrate through sports. Here's to more exciting and fulfilling events like this in the future!” ~Peter Chen, TCL Philippines CEO
TCL, a well-known international technology company, has always aimed to "Inspire Greatness," a mission that is entirely consistent with the Olympic spirit. TCL is dedicated to upholding its corporate social responsibility, assisting the Olympic Sustainable Development Goals, and creating a better future as the official Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner in the Home Audiovisual Equipment and Home Appliances category.
With this program, TCL demonstrates its dedication to the Olympic spirit while providing a thrilling and significant basketball event that offers unforgettable experiences. With the goal of encouraging excellence in young, ambitious athletes at the grassroots level, it brings together the best local basketball players and professional coaches in a renovated space.
Top basketball players from collegiate and professional leagues gathered at Araullo High School in Manila for the event, which was called the "TCL Basketball Camp." TCL Electronics and Araullo High School have formalized their relationship with a contract signing ceremony to launch the program. TCL Brand Manager Joseph Cernitchez, along with Rain or Shine Assistant Brand Manager Red Magcase, Araullo High School Assistant School Principal II Ms. Ebuena P. Alvarez, TCL CEO Peter Chen, TCL Deputy Marketing Director Shae Yu, and TCL Deputy Product Director of Air Conditioner Bert Cheung attended the contract signing.
TCL Champions School Sportsmanship
A recently renovated TCL basketball court was inaugurated, adding excitement to the partnership between TCL and Araullo High School and making it even more appealing and useful for prospective student-athletes. In partnership with Rain or Shine, who supplied the paint supplies, the 2,072 square foot basketball court lines and the 4,700 square foot basketball court were renovated. Additionally, ₱300,000 worth of TCL TVs and air conditioners were donated to improve the school's facilities and basketball court.
Bert Cheung, TCL's Deputy Product Director of Air Conditioner, made the ceremonial opening shot to begin the basketball activity. Forty young athletes participated in the Basketball Clinic, the event's major attraction, which was organized by Better BasketballPH Skills Camp. JD Cagulangan, UP Fighting Maroon, and Suwon KT Sonicboom, the Korean Basketball League's (KBL) Rookie of the Year, added to the enthusiasm by offering advice and motivation. JD participated in the basketball clinic and helped the attendees shoot baskets.
Blackwater Coach Jeffrey Cariaso, TCL's brand partner, also took part and shared his basketball knowledge in a brief coaching principles workshop designed especially for PE coaches. Coach Jeffrey is joined in the conversation by Mr. Augusto D. Baldoz, Head Teacher VI, MAPEH Department, at Araullo High.

Upholding the Olympic Spirit
Also in line with the first global celebration of Olympic Day as a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner, TCL was honored in a special ceremony on June 22, with its name added to the Donors’ Wall at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland. This recognition highlights TCL's significant contribution to smart terminals and display solutions, which are set to enhance the development of sports and culture through innovative technology. The ceremony saw key representatives from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), including President Thomas Bach and President-elect Kirsty Coventry, Olympic Museum Director Angelita Teo alongside Chief Operating Officer of TCL Technology Kevin Wang, who unveiled a commemorative marble brick engraved with TCL’s logo. This permanent addition signifies TCL's outstanding contributions to the international Olympic movement, echoing the Olympic spirit of "Faster, Higher, Stronger—Together" and TCL's commitment to "Inspire Greatness."
TCL was asked to attend the historic inauguration of Kirsty Coventry as the 10th IOC President on June 23, which marked a new chapter for the Olympic movement, further solidifying this partnership. As the first African and female IOC President, Coventry's trailblazing leadership is a perfect fit with TCL's "TCLforHer" campaign, a platform devoted to supporting women around the world via culture and technology. Inspired by the IOC's "Let’s Move" campaign, TCL also started its first global effort to boost Olympic Day celebrations around the world. This campaign features a dynamic film that uses TCL display technology to connect two future Olympic host cities during the Winter and Summer.
TCL will carry on the momentum created by this campaign in the run-up to the 2025 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics, expanding its partnership with the IOC to promote cultural engagement with state-of-the-art technology and foster the development of the Olympic movement.
To Even Greater Sporting Events
More than simply providing what people need, TCL seeks to ignite hope and aspiration through this basketball event, sharing a truly admirable spirit.
