McDonald’s and G-DRAGON Unite for ‘Asia Chicken Campaign’ Across 13 Markets

“The Asia Chicken Campaign brings together two globally recognized icons, McDonald’s and G-DRAGON, in a unique collaboration inspired by the growing influence of Korean flavor and culture across Asia. Through this partnership, we are excited to create memorable experiences that connect people through great taste, creativity, and shared cultural moments. As only McDonald’s can, we are proud to deliver Feel Good Moments to customers across Asia.” ~Karl Christian Chua, Brand Manager for McDonald’s Philippines

McDonald’s Philippines has announced the launch of its highly anticipated “Asia Chicken Campaign,” a regional collaboration bringing together two globally recognized names McDonald’s and G-DRAGON. The campaign will roll out across 13 Asian markets, with the Philippine launch scheduled for September 17.

Known for bringing people together through food and shared experiences, McDonald’s is partnering with G-DRAGON, whose influence extends beyond music into fashion, art, and popular culture. The collaboration creates an “ICON×ICON” partnership that highlights the growing international reach of Korean culture and K-culture-inspired experiences.

Led by
McDonald’s Korea, the campaign is expected to connect with hundreds of millions of consumers throughout the region. By combining McDonald’s global presence and heritage with G-DRAGON’s international cultural influence, the campaign introduces a distinctly Korean-inspired flavor experience to customers across Asia.

In the Philippines, the campaign will feature McSpicy and McNuggets with Cajun Sauce. McSpicy combines a juicy whole-cut chicken thigh fillet with a crispy, spicy seasoning blend, served on a soft toasted bun with fresh lettuce and creamy mayonnaise. The result is a combination of crunch, heat, and savory flavor in every bite.

Meanwhile, McNuggets with Cajun Sauce pairs crispy, golden Chicken McNuggets with creamy Cajun Sauce. The K-inspired sauce delivers savory and tangy flavors with a mild spicy kick, creating another flavorful addition to the campaign lineup.

Beyond the menu, McDonald’s will introduce a series of campaign activations across the 13 participating markets, including exclusive digital content and limited-time customer experiences. Fans will also have the opportunity to enjoy exclusive PEACEMINUSONE merchandise developed in partnership with G-DRAGON, extending the ICON×ICON partnership beyond the food experience.

Creating Brighter Beginnings: RMHC Philippines Opens Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit Learning Center in Marikina

"For us at McDonald’s and RMHC, making a difference in communities, especially through education has and will always be part of who we are and what we do—from early childhood education, all the way to preparing students to be workforce ready.“ ~Marie Angeles, Executive Director of RMHC Philippines
Photo from Left (in-front): Kap. Zaldy Josef, Shiela Josef (Brgy. Sto Nino, Hazel Militante (City Social Welfare Development Officer, Marikina City), Hon. Mayor Marjorie Ann “Maan” Teodoro, Congressman Marcy Teodoro, City Councilor Angel Nunez (Marikina City), Margot B. Torres (Managing Director, McDonald’s Philippines & Vice President, RMHC), Marie Angeles (Executive Director, RMHC), and Rev. Fr. Arvin Jerome Piedad (Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados) Photo from Right (back): Austin Torres (Public Affairs Senior Manager, McDonald’s Philippines), Atty. Jiji and Alex Fernandez (Owner Operators, McDonald’s Philippines)

McDonald's Philippines, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Philippines, and the City Government of Marikina celebrate the opening of the 57th Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit Learning Center in Barangay Sto. Niño, Marikina City, creating brighter beginnings for young learners and reaffirming their shared commitment to advancing early childhood education in Filipino communities.

For many Filipino parents, balancing work and ensuring their children receive a quality early childhood education continues to be a daily challenge. For Monica Dela Cruz, the tricycle driver in Barangay Sto. Niño, a mother of three from Marikina City, is all too familiar with this reality.

The primary provider for the family, Monica, juggles working long hours on the road with caring for her children. This year, her three-year-old son will begin preschool, which represents yet another important turning point for her family. There are new responsibilities and objectives associated with this new chapter.

Stories like Monica's emphasize the value of easily accessible, community-based early childhood education and show the struggles that many diligent Filipino families face.

In response to this need, McDonald's Philippines and Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Philippines formally opened the 57th Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit Learning Center in Barangay Sto on June 26, 2026. Niño, Marikina City. Young children can acquire the basic literacy, numeracy, and socioemotional skills required for formal education in a safe, encouraging, and stimulating environment at the learning center.

"The opening of the Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit Learning Center reflects our shared commitment to making quality early childhood education more accessible for every child. Ito po ay magiging daan upang mas marami pa sa ating mga kabataan ang magkaroon ng pagkakataong makatanggap ng dekalidad na edukasyon sa isang ligtas, maayos, at nurturing environment.” ~Mayor Marjorie Ann "Maan" Teodoro of Marikina City

The Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit Learning Center is another important step in McDonald's and RMHC Philippines' continuous efforts to expand access to high-quality early childhood education in underprivileged communities. With 57 Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit Learning Centers currently serving Filipino children nationwide, McDonald's and RMHC continue to create educational opportunities that support children's development, families' success, and communities' strength.

"Malaki talaga ang pasasalamat ko sa McDonald’s Philippines at Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Philippines sa pagbigay ng Bahay Bulilit Learning Center sa Brgy. Sto Nino, sa Marikina sapagkat matitiyak kong makakatanggap ng tamang edukasyon ang aking bunsong anak.” ~For parents like Monica

In keeping with its mission of empowering families, bolstering communities, and helping children access high-quality early childhood education, RMHC Philippines is expanding its network of 57 Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit Learning Centers across the country, one learning center at a time.

Returning to the Place Where It All Started: McDonald's Marks 44 Years in the Philippines at Its First Morayta Location

“When I brought McDonald’s to the Philippines, I initially envisioned opening 10 branches. Forty-four years later, the Philippines now ranks as one of the top 10 McDonald’s markets in the world, and we have more than 800 stores across the country. This is why I consider it important to shine a spotlight on McDonald’s Morayta, where it all began. It is also our reminder to stay focused on our customers, so that each moment they spend in our stores will create lasting memories for years to come. McDonald’s Morayta also saw our very first batch of working students, many of whom were driven to gain substantial work experience while also pursuing their studies. Our commitment to supporting working students remains true today. I’m happy to say that 70 percent of our workforce are working students.” ~Dr. George T. Yang, McDonald’s Philippines Chairman and Founder
McDonald’s Morayta today

McDonald's Philippines is constructing a commemorative sign at its historic first store on Morayta Street in Manila to honor 44 amazing years in the nation.

On October 28, McDonald's Philippines President and CEO Kenneth S. Yang and Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso ceremoniously unveiled the memorial honoring McDonald's Philippines Chairman and Founder Dr. George T. Yang.

Yang, Ronald McDonald, and Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso at the unveiling of the commemorative marker at McDonald’s Morayta, the first McDonald’s store in the country.

Located in the middle of the country's University Belt, McDonald's Morayta holds a special place in the hearts of students, family, friends, and coworkers.   The memorial honors this well-known business, where many joyful memories have been shared by generations of Filipinos.

As part of its continued commitment to giving back to the community it has served for more than 40 years, McDonald's was able to celebrate this milestone celebration with the local community by throwing an exciting and heartfelt McDo Party for over forty children from the Manila Child Development Center.

McDonald’s Morayta 1981

The Morayta store opened in 1981, soon after Dr. Yang was granted the exclusive franchise to operate McDonald’s in the Philippines.

In 2005, McDonald's Philippines was fully owned by Filipinos after a number of noteworthy turning events.   Earlier this year, Dr. Yang and Kenneth Yang received a new license to operate McDonald's across the country for the next 20 years, a clear endorsement of their management and leadership.   During the period of heightened growth that coincided with the new-term license, the company opened and operated outlets in nearly every province in the country, bringing the McDonald's experience closer to every Filipino.

“We continue to build on the exceptional McDonald’s experience that our customers have grown up with and continue to love. Because our operations are guided by our strong values and our passion for excellence, we are confident that our customers can enjoy the same great-tasting and high-quality food, and the same top-notch customer service in any of our 800-plus stores nationwide.” ~Mr. Kenneth Yang,

McDonald's is the only quick service restaurant (QSR) in the Philippines that employs direct hiring, and it continues to spend heavily in local employment and talent development.   Since 1981, McDonald's has employed non-contractualization to provide job stability and promotion opportunities to its talent pool of over 70,000 employees.   Through an excellent, all-inclusive training and development program that benefits them both inside and outside the company, every McDonald's employee, regardless of age, gender, or experience, has the opportunity to upgrade their abilities.   This year, the People Management Association of the Philippines named McDonald's Philippines Employer of the Year, a testament to the company's exceptional standards for hiring and developing individuals.

In addition to boosting socioeconomic activity, McDonald's Philippines is still dedicated to improving local communities through environmental and sustainability initiatives under the Green & Good platform and initiatives that promote positive community impact through the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

McDonald's Celebrates McSpicy Fans With The Launch of a New Twist: The Honey Mustard McSpicy

“The McSpicy has always held a special place in our customers’ hearts. With the Honey Mustard McSpicy, we wanted to surprise fans with something familiar yet refreshingly new — keeping the signature spiciness they love while adding a sweet twist that makes every bite even more exciting and flavorful.” ~Ashley Santillan-Delgado, McDonald’s Philippines Marketing Director

McDonald's Philippines expands its well-known McSpicy menu and offers customers a new take on a classic with the launch of the Honey Mustard McSpicy.   This most recent innovation exemplifies McDonald's commitment to introducing novel and intriguing flavors to its menu by fusing the unique crunch and spice of the now-available original McSpicy with a tangy-sweet twist.

The Honey Mustard McSpicy retains all the qualities that fans of the original love, such as the crunch, juiciness, and that unique kick of spice, while introducing an intriguing array of additional flavors. The original's creamy mayo, which is flecked with visible spice particles that impart a very subtle, zesty flavor, is replaced in this limited-edition version with a smooth amber-yellow honey mustard dressing. This union strikes the perfect balance between being hot, sweet, and utterly alluring.

By reinventing one of its iconic classics, McDonald's continues to demonstrate that even classic dishes can be reinterpreted in delicious new ways.   Honey Mustard McSpicy encourages both newcomers and die-hard fans to experience the explosion of flavor that only McDonald's can provide.

For a brief while starting on October 29, 2025, the Honey Mustard McSpicy will be available at all McDonald's restaurants across the country.   It is available for delivery, drive-thru, dine-in, take-out, and as a meal with fries and a drink in addition to the original form.

With today's launch of the Honey Mustard McSpicy, McDonald's builds on the popularity and offers fans both a resurgence and an enhanced version of the classic burger.

McSpicy Hall of Flame

The introduction of the new Honey Mustard McSpicy and the return of the legendary McSpicy are McDonald’s Philippines’ ways of celebrating their customers. And to further reward their loyalty to the McSpicy, McDonald’s inducted five of the most loyal die-hard fans to the McSpicy Hall of Flame, “a (digital) wall of legends for the ultimate McSpicy fans...where the boldest, hottest, most loyal fans get their spot in McDonald’s history.” First batch of awardees include Jae Acosta (dubbed “Day One Devotee”), Kaye Lantoria (dubbed “Lunch Break Loyalist”), Joyce Avelino (dubbed “Faithful McSpicy Seeker”), Migi Rivera (dubbed “Consistent Commitment King”), and Joanne So (dubbed “Enlightened Spice Convert”).

McDonald’s also organized the McSpicy Challenge in some of its branches in Quezon City. Fans competed to eat a McSpicy Sandwich in record time without any drinks. Dubbed “Speedy Spice Slayers,” these fans were also inducted in the McSpicy Hall of Flamers: Christian Castillo (45 seconds), Joey Basbas (45 seconds), Mark Desamito, Jr. (1 minute 7 seconds), Khen Maichele Mendoza (1 minute 9 seconds), Mark Abulo (2 minutes 3 seconds), and content creator Papi Louie (2 minutes 6 seconds).

McDonald’s Philippines is still looking for additional fans to include in the McSpicy Hall of Flames. McSpicy fans with proven loyalty and fandom and affinity for the heat of McSpicy may stay tuned in McDonald’s Philippines social media pages for announcements on how to be included in the next batch of Hall of Flamers.

Legendary Spice Icon McSpicy Is Back on McDonald’s Menu for a Limited Run

“It’s an icon for spicy food lovers, and fans never stopped looking for it, especially on social media. There’s a constant clamor for McSpicy’s return, and we are happy to be able to give our customers what they want. The McSpicy returns to honor its loyal fans who can’t wait to satisfy their spicy food cravings. But those who will try it for the first time will definitely love it too, with the balance of real heat and bold flavors delivered on a generous chicken fillet.” ~Ashley Santillan-Delgado, Marketing Director of McDonald’s Philippines

The heat is on again as the well-known spice icon returns to McDonald's!  After three years, the well-liked McSpicy returns briefly to entice heat-seekers' taste buds with its unusually strong flavors.

When the McSpicy first debuted on the McDonald's Philippines menu in 2013, it was marketed as the perfect burger for people who enjoy spice. Since then, it has grown to be a favorite among fans who are desiring something different from the standard burger.

The McSpicy's boldness solidified McDonald's as a brand unafraid to bring heat to its menu, winning the affection of consumers who want an extra kick in their chicken sandwich. It consists of a hot and spicy whole muscle chicken patty with a crispy coating, paired with crunchy lettuce and a creamy mayo in a sesame seed bun.

McDonald’s New Sea Salt Caramel Iced Coffee Fuels Niana Guerrero’s Main Character Moments

“We are so proud to partner with Niana for McCafé Sea Salt Caramel Iced Coffee. Gen Zs like her have redefined what coffee drinking means. For them it’s not just about the caffeine, but also about the vibe. With the McCafé Sea Salt Caramel Iced Coffee, we’re giving them a flavor that hits both sweet and salty notes. It’s something bold, balanced, and totally in tune with this generation’s tastes.” ~Ashley Santillan-Delgado, McDonald's Philippines’ Marketing Director

Did you think your coffee period reached its zenith with the triumphant return of McCafé Cereal Milk Coffee? Plot twist: McDonald's is reintroducing another flavor of McCafé Iced Coffee to boost the energy levels of the main character!

Presenting McCafé Sea Salt Caramel Iced Coffee, which combines the flavor of freshly brewed McCafé coffee with sea salt and sweet caramel. Introduced on September 26, it is the latest addition to McDonald's Philippines' incredibly comprehensive coffee menu. "Cue the soundtrack," the voice in your brain that says, and big sentiments are what this new cast member is all about.

Because, well, let's be honest. We drink more than just coffee. We can feel it. For thriving, surviving, or just feeling good, it's our go-to drink. It's also our cup of personality and emotional support. We also work with Gen Z social media influencer Niana Guerrero, who is a devoted fan of Sea Salt Caramel Iced Coffee and the face of McCafé's newest products.

It’s giving:
  • Energy in a cup as its creamy caramel taste complements the sea salt edge, ending with that rich McCafé coffee hit.
  • Chaotic harmony with its balance of sweet and salty flavors
  • Pick me up to your mundane grocery run, coffee break, or study session, becoming a coming-of-age montage complete with OST.

Your Coffee, Your Moment

Whether you’re deep in nostalgia or in the midst of your character arc, McCafé’s coffee collection lets you sip according to your script.
  • Sea Salt Caramel Iced Coffee when the occasion calls for a little indulgent treat
  • Cereal Milk Iced Coffee for those sweet and sentimental hours
  • Iced Coffee Vanilla for those chill and easy mornings
  • Iced Coffee Mocha for those times when you long for a rich, chocolatey plot twist
  • Iced Black Coffee for when you don’t feel like talking, just vibing

Great on their own, they’re even better with your McDo faves. Level up your go-to McDonald’s meals with a McCafé coffee that matches the vibe. So go ahead and sip that coffee like the main character you were born to be.

McCafé’s Sea Salt Caramel Iced Coffee is available at McDonald’s stores nationwide for dine in, take out, drive-thru, or ordering via McDelivery and other food delivery apps.

McDonald's Gives Everyone Access to Music and Happy Moments

K-Pop Filo fans, take note!  The Magic Door will formally open at McDonald's restaurants on September 26th, giving every fan and family the opportunity to explore the TinyTAN universe.  With the help of the adorable TinyTAN stars, McDonald's has developed a brand-new Happy Meal experience that invites everyone to rediscover their passion of play, music, and happy moments.

Feel-good fandom

TinyTANs are adorable cartoon characters that were made in reaction to the global K-Pop phenomenon known as BTS.  In addition to winning over fans all over the world with their undeniable cuteness, TinyTANs—who were developed to symbolize the unique personalities and upbeat feelings that BTS is renowned for—also offer fantastic fan experiences with their timely themes of love, hope, and self-belief.

Every TinyTAN Happy Meal unpacking is thrilling and full of surprises because it includes a digital K-Pop dancing game, a cool graphic collecting card, and figurines of TinyTAN characters RM, Jin, Suga, j-hope, V, Jimin, and Jungkook.

Two TinyTAN Happy Meal collections will launch alongside the standard McDonald's Happy Meal promotions.  Each TinyTAN character will be dressed as their BTS counterparts from the well-known BTS Meal commercial in the first, the Throwback Edition, which will be available on September 26.  Each character will be dressed in McDonald's-inspired clothing in the October 17 release of the Encore Edition.  The fun doesn't stop there!

By bringing back the renowned Cajun Sauce, which became well-known during the BTS Meal frenzy, McDonald's further improves the experience.  The rich, sweet, and slightly sour sauce is back and goes great with fries and McNuggets. It's the perfect addition to your TinyTAN Happy Meal toys.

McDo TinyTAN Timeline

To celebrate these releases and further improve the experience of Filipino fans, McDonald's is getting ready to introduce exclusive deals and promotions.  These include offering swap areas at certain McDonald's restaurants, reducing the McDelivery delivery fee by P7, providing drive-thrus with free TinyTAN wristbands, allowing collectors to receive their TinyTAN Happy Meal toy and donate their meal to the Ronald McDonald House of Charities, hosting a raffle where customers can win free tickets to Seoul, TinyTAN Mall Pop-ups, and more!

More magical, feel-good offers, promotions, and events featuring K-Pop's smallest band and the return of the Cajun Sauce will soon be available at Dine-In, Drive-Thru, Takeout, and McDelivery.
