McDonald’s Celebrates National Fries Day on July 10 with BFF Fries Blowout

“We are really proud of our World Famous Fries ®, and we’re thankful for all the Filipino fans who consider it their go-to for fries. Since we introduced the BFF Fries over a decade ago , we’ve seen how barkadas, families, and workmates have such fun sharing their favorite. And we can’t think of a better way to celebrate National Fries Day than with BFF fries.” ~Ada Almendras-Lazaro, McDonald’s Philippines’ Chief Marketing Officer

McDonald's Philippines is celebrating National Fries Day with a special blowout to honor Filipino fans' passion for its World Famous Fries ®. On July 10, fans can buy BFF Fries for just P99 in all McDonald's locations nationwide (via the McDonald's app).

In the Philippines and around the world, McDonald's World Famous Fries are a popular menu item. They are typically deep-fried, straight-cut from whole potatoes, salted, and served hot and crispy with tomato ketchup. They have, however, also been imaginatively combined with other McDonald's menu items, such as gravy or the Hot Fudge Sundae. The iconic red fry box can be seen in trays and takeout bags at any time of day.

On Friday, July 10, only the McDonald's App will offer the National Fries Day BFF Fries Blowout for just P99 (down from the usual price of P183). Fans and customers can use the app to redeem the deal and take advantage of the drive-thru, dine-in, takeout, and in-store ordering kiosks.

Promo runs under DTI Fair Trade Permit No. FTEB-260604 Series of 2026.

“There is always clamor for McDonald’s Philippines to bring back the Twister Fries to its menu. This year, Twister Fries returns not just to delight fans, but also to bring everyday feel-good moments to our customers during this time when we all need something to brighten our days.” ~Celina Lagandaon, McDonald’s Philippines Marketing Director

In the midst of bad news about domestic and global circumstances, McDonald's Philippines is offering much-needed good news with the temporary reintroduction of the famous Twister Fries.

Beginning on May 1, fans and customers will be able to experience Twister Fries once more.

Lagandaon urges everyone to enjoy Twister Fries as soon as possible because of their limited supply, saying, "35 days can go by just very fast and some regrettably missed the Twister Fries last year." While they enjoy their beloved golden Twister fries, our customers should look forward to daily plot twists this year that will help them see the positive aspects of life.

The exciting reintroduction of Twister Fries coincides with a digital promotion called "Your Daily Plot Twist," which offers special daily surprises while Twister Fries are available. Fans and customers should anticipate these daily "plot twists" since they will give everyone the classic McDonald's feel-good moments.

McDonald's Twister Fries are available in solo or sharing servings and start at P89. Fries can be upgraded or bought as an add-on for any McDonald's meal that includes fries.

Twister Fries will only be available for a little over a month, so fans and customers should not miss the opportunity to learn their own Daily Plot Twists while enjoying golden, curly-shaped deliciousness. While it lasts, there are drive-thru, grab food, Food Panda, McDelivery, dine-in, and takeaway options.

McDonald's Philippines and Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Philippines formally gave over the 56th Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit Learning Center to the City of Manila earlier in April.

At a solemn ceremony at the McDonald's United Nations–Del Pilar location, Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso and other local leaders were given the key to the newest Bahay Bulilit Learning Center by McDonald's personnel. After the facility in Quirino, this Bahay Bulilit is located in Boystown Manila.

The newest Bahay Bulilit Learning Center in the country, Bahay Bulilit Boystown, actively meets the early childhood care and development needs of the local young learners. The 56 Bahay Bulilit Learning Centers around the nation serve more than 5,000 preschoolers each year.

Joining Mayor Domagoso at the event were Manila Vice Mayor Angela Lei Ilagan Atienza-ValdepeƱas, City Administrator Atty. Eduardo Quintos XIV, and Manila Department of Social Welfare Head Jay R. dela Fuente. Also present at the turnover were top McDonald’s officials, which included Torres; Ben Marasigan, Vice President for Human Capital Group; Maricar Angeles, RMHC Executive Director; and Howard Lance Uyking, Corporate Communications Director.

Mayor Domagoso gave rice assistance to McDonald's employees during the same ceremony, including senior citizens who participate in the company's inclusive hiring initiative, M for All. The Biyayang Bigas Para sa Maynila rice distribution was conducted in cooperation with the Office of the President under the 2026 Local Government Support Fund as part of the city's social relief initiatives.

Since 2019, McDonald's and the City of Manila have worked closely together to provide job possibilities for senior citizens. Up to 51 senior citizens are currently employed by 26 company-owned and franchise locations in Manila.

McDonald’s Brings Back the Cheese and Chili Con Carne Dunks, Plus the Ebi Burger

“The return of both the Cheese and Chili Con Carne Dunks is McDonald’s way of digging deeper into the Pinoy sawsawan culture, which inherently invites sharing and creativity. Filipino culture encourages participation and individual creation in the way we consume our food, and this is exactly how our customers enjoyed the Dunks last year when they created new flavors and combinations with other favorites from our menu. The Ebi Burger is another product we’ve been wanting to offer again and offering it alongside the two Dunks would make for exciting new flavor combinations that we’re sure our customers will explore.” ~Ada Almendras-Lazaro, McDonald’s Philippines’ Chief Marketing Officer

With the Cheese dip and Chili Con Carne Dunk being reintroduced on February 18, McDonald's Philippines is inviting customers to "dunk into flavor" once more. The third time is definitely the charm. This year marks the return of the Ebi Burger, a 2025 fan favorite that created innumerable alternative ways to enjoy other well-liked McDonald's dishes.

The taste of the two Dunks is just as good as they look. A delicious and enticing cheese sauce is the Cheese Dunk. The Chili Con Carne Dunk is another delicious sauce that blends the strong flavors of beef, chili, and additional spices. Both pair nicely with other McDonald's dishes and everyone's favorite cheeseburgers.

The Ebi Burger, a welcome addition to McDonald's menu during Lent, will also be made available again this year. With a rich, smooth cheese sauce, everyone's favorite crispy shrimp patty has been transformed into a creamy seafood delight.

Both the Cheese and Chili Con Carne Dunks, as well as the Ebi Burger, are available through dine-in, take-out, drive thru, and delivery via McDelivery, Grab Food or Food Panda. For more information about McDonald’s products and promos visit  www.mcdonalds.com.ph

McDonald’s Grand Reunion Brings People Back Together for the Holidays

“By creating spaces where groups can once again gather meaningfully, McDonald’s taps directly into the Filipino cultural values of pagsasama-sama, pagsasalo-salo, and gratitude. It offers a simple yet heartfelt reminder that those who help make Christmas special for others deserve their own celebration too. In a season that can often feel overwhelming with crowded schedules, growing expenses, and emotional demands, Grand Reunion at McDo offers a refreshing alternative, a warm, uncomplicated, and inclusive holiday gathering that doesn’t require grand preparations.” ~Ada Lazaro, Chief Marketing Officer at McDonald's Philippines

Many Filipinos look forward to Christmas more than any other holiday. It's time for long-awaited grand reunions, in which family and friends reunite after months or even years away. It is one of the most popular traditions in the country. However, not everyone has the opportunity to plan such gatherings. Some people spend the holidays apart from their families, missing out on the joys of being together.

This year, McDonald's Philippines plans to bridge that gap by providing free celebrations to specific communities. Known as "Grand Reunion at McDo," this statewide holiday initiative will transform select McDonald's Party Rooms into festive settings for meaningful reunions taking place simultaneously across the country, restoring the warmth of the season to those who need it the most.

How to be part of McDonalds’ Grand Reunion

Customers are invited to visit the McDonald's Philippines Facebook site and share their story on the Grand Reunion post, outlining their reasons for wanting to get back together, what kept them apart, and what makes their relationship unique.   On December 8 from 2-4 p.m., McDonald's will host groups of up to 10 individuals, with two groups per party room for a total of 20 guests.

In addition to a heartwarming and original story, participants will be selected based on how well their stories convey the spirit of community during the Christmas season.   Participants are free to select the McDonald's location of their choice.

Each party will receive boxes of Honey Butter Chicken McDo augmented with a "shake, tear, and sprinkle" moment using Garlic Parmesan and Snow Cheese Powder. It's a simple tradition that makes the meal enjoyable for everyone. Apart from facilitating light games and toasts, a McDonald's "Happiness Host" will help create a more memorable and social atmosphere.

Reinforcing Filipino values

Lazaro added the initiative aims to reinforce Filipino values of bonding and connection during the Christmas season by offering a venue for meaningful reunions.

Returning to the Place Where It All Started: McDonald's Marks 44 Years in the Philippines at Its First Morayta Location

“When I brought McDonald’s to the Philippines, I initially envisioned opening 10 branches. Forty-four years later, the Philippines now ranks as one of the top 10 McDonald’s markets in the world, and we have more than 800 stores across the country. This is why I consider it important to shine a spotlight on McDonald’s Morayta, where it all began. It is also our reminder to stay focused on our customers, so that each moment they spend in our stores will create lasting memories for years to come. McDonald’s Morayta also saw our very first batch of working students, many of whom were driven to gain substantial work experience while also pursuing their studies. Our commitment to supporting working students remains true today. I’m happy to say that 70 percent of our workforce are working students.” ~Dr. George T. Yang, McDonald’s Philippines Chairman and Founder
McDonald’s Morayta today

McDonald's Philippines is constructing a commemorative sign at its historic first store on Morayta Street in Manila to honor 44 amazing years in the nation.

On October 28, McDonald's Philippines President and CEO Kenneth S. Yang and Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso ceremoniously unveiled the memorial honoring McDonald's Philippines Chairman and Founder Dr. George T. Yang.

Yang, Ronald McDonald, and Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso at the unveiling of the commemorative marker at McDonald’s Morayta, the first McDonald’s store in the country.

Located in the middle of the country's University Belt, McDonald's Morayta holds a special place in the hearts of students, family, friends, and coworkers.   The memorial honors this well-known business, where many joyful memories have been shared by generations of Filipinos.

As part of its continued commitment to giving back to the community it has served for more than 40 years, McDonald's was able to celebrate this milestone celebration with the local community by throwing an exciting and heartfelt McDo Party for over forty children from the Manila Child Development Center.

McDonald’s Morayta 1981

The Morayta store opened in 1981, soon after Dr. Yang was granted the exclusive franchise to operate McDonald’s in the Philippines.

In 2005, McDonald's Philippines was fully owned by Filipinos after a number of noteworthy turning events.   Earlier this year, Dr. Yang and Kenneth Yang received a new license to operate McDonald's across the country for the next 20 years, a clear endorsement of their management and leadership.   During the period of heightened growth that coincided with the new-term license, the company opened and operated outlets in nearly every province in the country, bringing the McDonald's experience closer to every Filipino.

“We continue to build on the exceptional McDonald’s experience that our customers have grown up with and continue to love. Because our operations are guided by our strong values and our passion for excellence, we are confident that our customers can enjoy the same great-tasting and high-quality food, and the same top-notch customer service in any of our 800-plus stores nationwide.” ~Mr. Kenneth Yang,

McDonald's is the only quick service restaurant (QSR) in the Philippines that employs direct hiring, and it continues to spend heavily in local employment and talent development.   Since 1981, McDonald's has employed non-contractualization to provide job stability and promotion opportunities to its talent pool of over 70,000 employees.   Through an excellent, all-inclusive training and development program that benefits them both inside and outside the company, every McDonald's employee, regardless of age, gender, or experience, has the opportunity to upgrade their abilities.   This year, the People Management Association of the Philippines named McDonald's Philippines Employer of the Year, a testament to the company's exceptional standards for hiring and developing individuals.

A closer look at the McDonald’s Morayta commemorative marker.

In addition to boosting socioeconomic activity, McDonald's Philippines is still dedicated to improving local communities through environmental and sustainability initiatives under the Green & Good platform and initiatives that promote positive community impact through the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

McDonald’s Philippines President and CEO Kenneth S. Yang formally opens the company’s 800th store in Davao City, marking a significant milestone in its continued nationwide expansion.

McDonald's Philippines launched its 800th location on June 30th, demonstrating its ongoing expansion and scaling.  This landmark store is situated in Davao Global Township, a new central business district in Davao del Sur that features a park-inspired way of life.

The launch of the store coincides with Golden Arches Development Corporation (GADC) President & CEO Kenneth S. Yang and Chairman and Founder Dr. George T. Yang receiving a new 20-year franchise from McDonald's Corporation in Chicago, Illinois.  George and Kenneth Yang will continue to run and expand the McDonald's brand in the nation, including sub-franchising its eateries, until 2045 under the new agreement.  Since the Golden Arches established its first McDonald's restaurant in Morayta, Manila, in 1981, the Yangs have owned the master franchise for McDonald's in the Philippines.

The new location is located at Matina Galleria, Gen. Douglas MacArthur Highway, Talomo, Davao City, and is open twenty-four hours a day.  It is the first Bike & Dine restaurant and the 22nd McDonald's in Davao City.  The 179-seat eatery offers McDelivery, ride-thru, takeout, and dining in. It also features a Party Area that's ideal for parties.

Boosting Local Employment

McDonald's Davao Global Township, one of the QSR behemoth's Green & Good flagship locations, has solar electricity, a rainwater collection tank, energy-saving motion and photo sensors, LED lighting, and an air conditioner that uses less energy.

The newest store also has bike-friendly amenities including a Bike and Dine, which is the ideal place for cyclists to stop throughout their trips, as part of its dedication to and support for sustainable active mobility.

McDonald’s Philippines’ other Green & Good stores are located at UN Del Pilar (Manila), Shaw Boulevard Wack-Wack (Mandaluyong), Mambugan (Antipolo), Delos Reyes (Tagaytay), Nuvali (Sta. Rosa, Laguna), Sta. Monica Commonwealth (Quezon City), and Ayala Crescendo (Tarlac).

Grand Opening

Before it ever opened, McDonald's showed its dedication to the community by giving away 800 McDonald's Kindness Kitchen meals to the Badjao Community and Barangay Matina Aplaya CDC beneficiaries.

McDonald's Davao Global Township gave away one complimentary Chicken McDo to its first 800 patrons in honor of its launch.  Kenneth S. Yang, President and CEO of McDonald's Philippines, presided over the new location's opening ceremony.
