To officially celebrate SWEEP’s two decades and the program’s milestones, the PLDT Group has just concluded a learning and networking summit called SWEEP@20 and beyond, for its partner schools this month.    

Providing a peek into the future, the PLDT Group has discussed more about how 5G, AI or artificial intelligence, XR or extended reality, cloud computing, and advanced networks can help create a sustainable and more inclusive world for all Filipinos and leave no one behind.

JoyRide And Happy Move collaborate with PLDT Enterprise

During the enhanced community quarantine, JoyRide, and Happy Move partnered with different LGUs to give opportunities to tricycle drivers for alternative livelihood as delivery riders for the said apps.

During the enhanced community quarantine, JoyRide and Happy Move partnered with different LGUs to give opportunities to tricycle drivers for alternative livelihood as delivery riders for the said apps. Around 10,000 tricycle drivers and other riders have been given livelihood, as JoyRide and Happy Move saw the need to change its platform to point-to-point (P2P) delivery and concierge service (JoyRide Pabili).  

Through its new partnership with PLDT Enterprise, JoyRide and Happy Move riders and bikers will now enjoy the benefits of Smart Bizload—where they can receive prepaid loads quickly using the platform to aid their communication requirements while doing deliveries.

Philippine Army provides COVID-19 Quarantine Sites with Free Connectivity

PLDT Enterprise continues to support the country's battle against COVID-19. This time, PLDT Enterprise has deployed business-grade fiber internet to quarantine areas manned by the Philippine Army. Among them are, Philippine Army Wellness Center, Gate 5 Barracks, SOQ TRADOC Building, and Libingan ng mga Bayani.

The fiber-grade connectivity will allow the army personnel to remain informed of the latest news about the coronavirus and likewise will enable COVID-19 patients in the quarantine areas to keep in touch with their loved ones.

As part of its continuous efforts to support the country's response to COVID-19, PLDT Enterprise deploys free connectivity support to the quarantine areas covered by the Philippine Army.

All quarantine areas manned by uniformed personnel in Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila for COVID-19 patients now have business-grade fiber internet which leverages PLDT Group's most expansive fiber-optic network in the country. The COVID-19 quarantine areas include Philippine Army Wellness Center, Gate 5 Barracks, SOQ TRADOC Building, and Libingan ng mga Bayani.

Smart Provides Free WiFi for New COVID-19 Healthcare facilities

In support of the ongoing efforts to curb the COVID-19 disease, Smart is rolling out carrier-grade, fiber-powered Smart WiFi to these large venues converted as quarantine areas for PUI and PUMs:
  • Ninoy Aquino Stadium at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex
  • Philippine International Convention Center Tent 
  • World Trade Center

As part of its efforts to equip COVID-19 medical frontliners with reliable data connectivity, PLDT wireless subsidiary  Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) is providing fast, free and 24/7 Smart WiFi to several major newly-activated COVID-19 facilities.

Smart is rolling out carrier-grade fiber-powered Smart WiFi to the Ninoy Aquino Stadium at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, the Philippine International Convention Center Tent and the World Trade Center.  These large venues have been converted into COVID-19 treatment facilities that will handle persons under monitoring (PUMs) and patients under investigation (PUIs).

Smart has also installed Wifi connectivity at the La Salle Greenhills campus in Mandaluyong which now houses health workers from nearby hospitals. These WiFi installations, which have a capacity of up to 1 Gigabyte per second, are the latest in PLDT-Smart’s ongoing efforts to provide communications support to frontline agencies and their personnel such as the departments of health, transportation, public works, the armed forces and police, local governments and non-governmental organizations in different parts of the country.

Smart WiFi connectivity is also available in provincial capitols, city and municipal halls across the country, which are being used as a base of operations for local government logistics, transportation, and relief, as well as in hospitals, supermarkets, and convenience stores.

The aim is to provide communications support to frontline agencies and their personnel such as the departments of health, transportation, public works, the armed forces and police, local governments and non-governmental organizations in different parts of the country as they fight against COVID-19.

UP-PGH Launches 155200 Hotline with PLDT Enterprise powering the COVID-19 Bayanihan Operations Center

A joint effort between UP-PGH and PLDT Enterprise, they launched COVID-19 Bayanihan Operations Center and 155200 Hotline in response to providing assistance to the public.

The same hotline can also be used to course through donations of PPEs. PLDT Enterprise provided the dedicated hotline number, connectivity and call center IT platform. This is part of the PLDT's continuous efforts to support the nation amid this disease.

The hotline service is a joint effort between UP-PGH’s in-house IT team and PLDT’s Enterprise Business Group, which provided a dedicated hotline number, connectivity and call center IT platform.

It will operate 24 hours daily and can accommodate 20 simultaneous calls at a time, in support of the tasks of the COVID-19 Bayaniihan Operations Center which is also open 24/7. The hotline will be manned by UP PGH volunteers.

UP PGH set up its operations center in line with the direction of the Department of Health to designate key government hospitals as referral facilities to handle COVID-19 patients. The other referral hospitals are the San Lazaro Hospital and the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine.
