Allianz PNB is committed to promoting sustainability and convenience through various solutions and innovations for the future of the Filipino community. Launched in 2020, Ride Safe is a bike safety and education campaign that aims to reinforce cycling as a healthy & sustainable form of transportation and help address Metro Manila’s transportation problems worsened by strict health protocols and lockdowns, thus catering to the Metro’s growing number of cyclists.

Having gone to San Juan and Manila City, Allianz PNB is expanding its Ride Safe campaign to more areas in the metro, with Bonifacio Global City as its newest partner city. Located along 28th Avenue, Lane O, The Bikeyard is an environmentally-friendly place for people to meet up for rides, discuss hot routes, plan two-wheeled adventures or simply take a breather from pedaling. Standing out amidst the buildings that dot BGC, it is a landmark in itself. The park’s well-thought-out design features bike amenities such as elevated bike racks and tables that can double as bike parking built from recycled and biodegradable material, reflecting Allianz PNB’s sustainability commitment.

Hellish traffic, the need for greater mobility, and greater health consciousness have combined to drive the growing popularity of biking in the Philippines. The number of bikers grew at the height of the Covid-19 lockdowns when bicycles were one of the few allowed modes of transportation, but Filipinos have kept pedaling on even with the restrictions lifted, having discovered the innate joys of biking. Whether it’s to go to the office, to do chores, or to discover Metro Manila’s hidden wonders, biking is definitely here to stay.

BGC Embraces Sustainable Practices, Leads the Charge to a Renewable Future

Now is the time to act with urgency and embrace sustainable practices for a renewable future. With recent events intensifying the need to expand sustainable energy solutions, every person is encouraged to take a step forward in advocating for sustainable development goals.

As a sustainable city with various movements towards green-living, Bonifacio Global City recognizes the importance of eco-friendly practices, which has begun to receive recognition.

The continuous efforts of BGC in advocating for sustainability have paid off as they recently became Liter of Light's venue in unveiling their meaningful pop-up artwork, and they were also invited by the ASEAN Center for Energy to the ASEAN Energy Awards 2021. The Bonifacio High Street Complex was recognized as the 2nd runner-up of the Tropical Building category under the Energy Efficient Building Award of the ASEAN Energy Efficiency and Conservation Best Practices Awards 2021.

Just recently, Bonifacio High Street was invited by the ASEAN Center for Energy to the Awarding Ceremony of the ASEAN Energy Awards 2021. The ASEAN Energy Awards, which started in 2000, is Southeast Asia's prestigious annual recognition program which puts the spotlight on outstanding work in the field of energy.

Bonifacio High Street Complex was selected as the 2nd runner-up of the Tropical Building category under the Energy Efficient Building Award of the ASEAN Energy Efficiency and Conservation Best Practices Awards 2021.

Among BGC’s environment-friendly initiatives are its energy-efficient buildings, streetlights, and parks, promoting alternative transportation modes such as cycling and walking, creating more green spaces for the community, plus other programs that support renewable energy and lesser CO2 emissions.

On top of that, BGC also recently became the perfect venue to unveil a meaningful pop-up artwork organized by the Filipino-born global grassroots solar lighting movement, Liter of Light. The massive solar installation featured 1,500 hand-built solar lamps made by thousands of participants through the “Light it Forward” campaign. It created a symbol of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal for Climate Action (UN SDG) #13: Climate Action.

Through initiatives like this, BGC provides BGCitizens with an opportunity to Light it Forward and take part in the Light it Forward Challenge to help different communities and pay tribute to medical frontliners. According to Liter of Light, about 13 million Filipinos still don’t have access to electricity. With a kit that only takes less than 30 minutes to build and can light up a home for 12-16 hours every night, we can still lessen that number.

Staying true to its promise, BGC continues to support advocacy groups working to address environmental problems and capitalize on opportunities offered to live out the practices that strive for energy efficiency, water conservation, pollution, and global warming prevention.

BGC enhances connectivity and active transport through sustainable PMD solutions

Bonifacio Global City, being a PMD-friendly city, has been a firm believer of bringing last-mile connectivity solutions to BGCitizens. Recently, they have taken further steps to ensure that residents, employees, and even visitors (APORs) can traverse within the city with ease and security.

Given limited transportation options, BGC, in close partnership with Moovr PH, has installed the first ten of its bike repair kits in key areas of the city to aid in enabling active transport during the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

Moreover, eight additional bike and e-scooter hubs from Moovr PH were also put in place in BGC. Key areas include 5th Avenue, Rizal Drive, Bonifacio High Street Central Parking, and North Bonifacio. With more hubs on its way to complete the connectivity story of BGC’s 240-hectare expanse.

With these efforts, BGC aims to create a safer and more conducive mobility option for its BGCitizens and guests. Over 14,000 Taguig Citizens Inoculated in the Bonifacio High Street Community Vaccination Center

“I am pleased to share the progress and turnaround of the Community Vaccination Center here in Bonifacio High Street. We are in full support of the City of Taguig’s COVID-19 vaccination roll-out by providing a secure and comfortable space that is easily accessible to everyone, with hopes that more and more BGCitizens will find confidence in getting inoculated, as we aim to achieve the road to zero. This is a collective effort that will help save lives and fast-track a safe return to normalcy.” ~Jay Teodoro, Fort Bonifacio Development Corporation’s Chief Operating Officer

Now more than ever, our health and well-being has been our top priority. As vaccinations are already taking place, it’s never too late to register and get protected!

Staying true to its promise of putting BGCitizens first, BGC opened its Community Vaccination Center last April in Bonifacio High Street in partnership with the City Government of Taguig. Taguig citizens simply have to secure a slot through the TRACE Taguig App, and from there, a schedule confirmation will be sent via SMS. All of this serves as a testament to the good things that can be accomplished when the public and private sectors work towards a shared goal.

True to its commitment to promote the community’s health and well-being, BGC opened its Community Vaccination Center last April in Bonifacio High Street, right in the heart of the city. In partnership with the City Government of Taguig, this paved the way to get even more citizens, and their loved ones, protected. It also serves as a testament to all the good things that can be accomplished when the public and private sector work towards a shared goal.

BGC, through the leadership of its LGU, and in collaboration with AC Health, has entered a new and deliberate phase in its pandemic response.

Taguig Citizens who are vulnerable including those part of the A2 category (seniors) and A3 (those with comorbidities aged 18-59 years old), and just recently, A4 or the frontline workforce in essential sectors and uniformed personnel, have all started to be served.

One may secure a slot through the TRACE Taguig App. Upon registration, a schedule confirmation will be sent via SMS before proceeding to the vaccination facility. Walk-ins are strictly not allowed to ensure a safe, swift, and efficient process.
