Century Tuna Welcomes Back Mt. Everest Summiteer Jeno Panganiban

“When we were approaching the summit, I approached it with pride because by that time, we knew that the whole nation was watching us. And I felt emotional because I was able to carry the Philippine flag to the top of the world. You have to be comfortable in being uncomfortable. So every day, we made sure that our bodies were in the right condition. I made sure my body and mind were ready for the push.” ~Jeno Panganiban, Mountaineer and Superbod Athlete

The formal celebration of mountaineer and Superbod athlete Jeno Panganiban's homecoming to the Philippines following his successful ascent of Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world, is held by Century Tuna.

Inspiring a new generation of Filipinos to take on the challenge of reaching their own summit with strength and proper nutrition, Jeno has made Philippine history as the youngest male Filipino to reach the summit in nearly two decades after a few months of relentlessly climbing the harsh terrain and enduring the frigid climate of Mount Everest.

Century Tuna highlights Jeno's victorious rise by celebrating his historic accomplishment and welcoming him home.  In his quest to reach the top of the world, he exemplifies fortitude, perseverance, and fortitude.

Jeno's ascent to the top of the world is evidence of his years of perseverance and commitment to stoking his love of mountaineering and improving his quality of life.  He used to be a software engineer with a 9–5 job, but now he owns a distribution company that supplies Metro Manila restaurants with nutritious vegetables, giving him more time management freedom.

Jeno recognized that reaching his long-held goal of climbing Mount Everest would need unwavering determination and focused focus.  It was more than just bringing together all of his prior mountaineering adventures.  It also involved consciously deciding to undergo rigorous preparation and purposefully providing his body with the proper nourishment, which may help him become a source of pride for the Philippines.

Jeno persevered through the potentially fatal difficulties, including high altitude sickness, dangerous weather, and the impending threat of avalanches.  As he pushed through tiredness to reach the peak, he faced intense sun exposure, scorching, temperatures that dropped below freezing, and oxygen deprivation.

Jeno was able to give his all during his ascent with Century Tuna as his partner.  His favorite Century Tuna meal—the traditional combination of Century Tuna Hot and Spicy with saltine crackers—fuels his incredible fortitude to ascend to an elevation of 8,849 meters. It's a simple, yet high-protein comfort food that keeps him going during his demanding training and protracted ascent.

His story exemplifies Century Tuna's "Fit for Any Role" campaign, which highlights the brand's promotion of fitness's multifaceted image and role in assisting people in embracing any role.

“Century Tuna is proud and honored to support Jeno’s journey because he is a living testament that anyone can face their own summit. He has shown us that through properly nourishing the body and building up strength, everyone can go after their dreams — a pursuit that Century Tuna has always championed. He is an inspiration, not just to his fellow athletes, but to all of us who take on life’s challenges every day.” ~Mr. Greg Banzon, Century Pacific Food, Inc.
