At the first-ever Miami Global Spirits Awards (MGSA), Tanduay's premium rums took home five prizes, including a gold medal for Tanduay Asian Rum Silver, which was named the Best White/Aged Under 6 Years Rum. Tanduay Asian Rum Gold, Tanduay 10-Year Old Rum, and Tanduay Double Rum received silver awards, while Tanduay Especia Spiced Rum received a bronze.
Held for the first time this year in Sunny Isles, Florida, the MGSA gathered together professionals from the industry to assess a variety of spirits from across the world. In order to assure neutrality, the panel of judges, which included journalists, industry experts, distilled spirits specialists, and notable purchasers, used a double-blind judging process.
Tanduay's numerous medals demonstrate the growing international recognition for Philippine-made spirits and further solidify the brand's standing as one of the world's leading makers of rum.
Tanduay's expanding presence outside of the Philippines is reflected in its ongoing victory in international competitions. Armenia, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Luxembourg, Malta, New Zealand, People's Republic of China, Peru, Poland, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, the Netherlands, United Arab Emirates, the United States, and the United Kingdom are among the major markets where the company is currently present. It was recently named the top-ranked rum in the world for the eighth year in a row.
