Tanduay’s International Spirit Competition Wins Highlight Consistent Excellence Across Rum Portfolio

Tanduay constantly exhibits a commitment to excellence and quality in all of its products, according to stringent international standards. In the most recent International Spirits Competition, five premium rums from Enthusiast Report Magazine took the top medals.

Gold prizes were presented to Tanduay Reserve Rum 10 Years, Tanduay Asian Rum Gold, and Tanduay Reserve Rum Overproof; Tanduay Double Rum received a Double Gold. Tanduay Asian Rum Silver received a silver medal.

Enthusiast Report's International Spirits Competition, which selects winners in several categories each quarter, brings together enthusiasts with a combined 100 years of tasting expertise. The luxury and lifestyle magazine regularly features the leading brands in wines and spirits, travel and leisure, fashion, cars, events, entertainment, and cigars. What Makes Up Tanduay’s Award-Winning Rums

Tanduay Double Rum routinely wins international spirits competitions. Tanduay's expertise in blending and maturing is evident in this premium rum, which is made from a blend of rums aged 16 and 5 years and aged in ex-bourbon barrels for an additional two years. This process makes this award-winning product a fantastic drinking rum.

It smells of toasted almonds, cooked pineapple, and tropical dried fruits. Its color is dark amber. It is an excellent aged rum with flavors like caramelized pineapple and a delicate blend of cherry and vanilla. It has a refined, medium-long, woody, raisin, and tropical zest aftertaste and a medium-sized, round, fruity body.

Another example of the brand's longevity is the gold medal-winning Tanduay Reserve Rum 10 Years. Old Bourbon barrels are used to mature this rum for a minimum of ten years. Its rich scents of toasted oak, vanilla, butterscotch, caramel, and tropical dried fruits make it an excellent option for drinking straight or as a base in cocktails. It smells of caramel, vanilla, and dried fruits in harmony with the aromas of toasted oak.  It has a medium-to-full weight, a rich, creamy texture, and a smooth, slightly woodsy finish with lingering aromas of dark chocolate and raisin.

Tanduay Asian Rum Gold is another award-winning premium rum in the brand's excellent portfolio.  This rich and sophisticated rum, which has been aged in ex-bourbon barrels for up to seven years, can be drunk plain or blended. It has a lovely mix of sweetness and alcohol, a vivid golden amber color, and expressive scents of vanilla, tropical fruits, coconut, and nutmeg. Its aroma is sophisticated and refined, and its body is dry, smooth, and mellow. On the nose, you can smell mature honey, almond, caramel, toasted oak, orange peels, and vanilla.

Pot and column still black rums are meticulously mixed to create Tanduay Reserve Rum Overproof. With notes of caramel, cherry, vanilla, banana, pineapple, and pear, it smells light and fresh. It has a medium-intensity flavor that combines caramel and burnt sugar with notes of wood, vanilla, sherry, banana, and pear. It also has a smooth, comforting mouthfeel and an off-dry sweetness. It has a very intricate, medium-length finish.

Another award-winning product is Tanduay Asian Rum Silver, which is a blend of rum that has been aged in ex-bourbon barrels for up to five years. It's perfect for enjoying neat and well-balanced for blending. It has a soft straw yellow hue and is translucent and clear. With hints of toasted, coconut, and vanilla, the scent has a powerful citrus and grapefruit peel. It tastes like a well-balanced combination of cream soda and citrus fruit flavors. It has a crisp, fruity, satiny, light to medium body with a dry, sweet, and warm finish.
